I love Jools he's my New Year's Eve saviour (as I am sad and don't get out to party on such an occasion!) I know I was gutted to find out a few years ago that this was pre recorded in something like July! Still I love "enjoy yourself it's later than you think"!!!!! Happy New Year MN!

LOL it is pre recorded but not in July! Usually in about two weeks before it airs.

Every year in the audience they have a man dancing with a Big Ben costume and clock face.

I saw it and was sad that it seems Ray Davies's voice has gone. One of the best British songwriters ever.
