Actually can I have your goat? You will need to deliver him, I am busy tomorrow morning so if you can bring him round about 3pm, with enough food to last till next week, that would be great. It is a boy goat you have?

expatinscotland · 31/12/2014 22:03

Only if it smokes, drinks and plays bingo.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 31/12/2014 22:04

" ...What we do not want is people looking for goats as handouts. No one has a right to a goat. But everyone should have the opportunity to earn a goat.

Anyone who doesn't choose to take that opportunity ..."

Ericaequites · 31/12/2014 22:04

Are there zoning rules in the UK about this? I live in the woods, so can keep anything I like. Though someone in a neighboring town encountered controversy when they acquired two camels. Things like tigers should be restricted due to public safety, but camels don't eat others' pets.

Bloody goats coming over here eating all our grass

ithoughtofitfirst · 31/12/2014 22:05

I think is my favourite MN comment of 2014.

You can coconutty

But it's really frowned upon.

bigbluestars · 31/12/2014 22:13

Depends on your council. Ours forbids the keeping of livestock and chickens in any housing estates- private or council owned.
A goat would be allowed bot only in less dense housing areas.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 31/12/2014 22:13

"Our government will be bringing in emergency measures to tackle the underemployment of boy goats..."

BinarySolo · 31/12/2014 22:14

And the resulting 'milk' is a tad salty.

Wherediparkmybroom · 31/12/2014 22:16

A goat is our right!!!! If I happen to live in a 3rd story flat it can live on the balcony!!!!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 31/12/2014 22:27

"Of course, we are concerned about people, at the taxpayers expense, keeping just one goat on a balcony that could easily support many more ..."

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 31/12/2014 22:28

WTF? I just clicked on this because it looked familiar - why the fuck has someone resurrected my zombie thread from the great NYE debacle of 2013?

Coconutty, you are welcome my love!

morethanpotatoprints · 31/12/2014 22:57

I want a goat but don't have a council house. I had the same problem last year.

UterusUterusGhali · 31/12/2014 22:59

I live in a HA house.

Forbidden to keep livestock in the tenancy agreement.

Fumin' ain't the word. Angry

(This is actually true btw. I'd love a goat. :( )

Wherediparkmybroom · 31/12/2014 23:01

Just ignore the aggrement seems common place on my estate, then you can establish yourselves a weed farm in the loft and laugh at all us poor saps with billy goats that give salty milk!
