to really, fervently hope that none of my neighbours has a NYE party?

Or a grumpy old scrooge?

To put in perspective, I have a one year old who has decided that sleep is for wimps, and have had about 7 hours sleep total since Friday night, plus been at work Monday and Tuesday. I live in a flat in a Victorian conversion so any noise carries badly.

Anyone else praying for no parties?

Me!! [waves]
First time in 10 years that I really couldn't face having all the neighbours round. Always been a low key drink and buffet (so no disturbance) - mainly for all the oldies who don't have any local families that I would love to invite for Christmas but can't due to the size of OUR family. I feel awful about it, but totally knackered at the moment, and now DD's throwing up - so I'm glad I'm not committed.

FunLovinBunster · 31/12/2013 19:42

Me.
Can't decide which is worse. Drunken teens or lairy middle aged farts who can't hold their drink. Or a tune....

Solongsucker · 31/12/2013 19:47

I'm also a grump ! Hope thee are no pastries, (err parties, predictive text... Sorry, I would actually be happy with pastries....
Everytime the olds go out their teenage menaces party!
I'm not in the m

Solongsucker · 31/12/2013 19:50

Oops
Mood to go round and ask for them to turn it down!
This is a naughty act of revenge I'll share....
Dh rings them, you can hear their phone if you stand with head near the chimney, we are semi detached... When they answer, hang up, repeat until they are as pissed off as we are.
May need a name change now.

MsAspreyDiamonds · 31/12/2013 19:50

Me too as my dd is an incredibly light sleeper and I don't want to clean up pools of vomit from my front garden.

dogindisguise · 31/12/2013 20:19

Me! Our street is very quiet normally but I slept badly last night and have a DD who wakes frequently so could really do with a good night's sleep tonight.

lookdeepintotheparka · 31/12/2013 20:27

And me!! We've had a week of awful nights because DD has a cold/virus thing and hasn't stopped coughing. Maybe one more night won't be any worse but my neighbours at the back are twats who like to stand right outside my bedroom window until all hours, smoking and screaming with annoying mirth every 2 mins when they have friends over!!

Good luck to you all upthread - here's to a peaceful start to the New Year Smile

Crazyhamsterseesyou · 31/12/2013 20:28

Me , I'm dreading it as its lots of Adults & under 21s .

They have the Alcohol piled high in the back garden & no doubt they will all drunkenly pile out of the house at 5am and start puking everywhere after blasting music all night Angry

DrMcDreamysWife · 31/12/2013 20:32

Me!!! Sooo much my 15 month old wakes constantly as it is. I had to complain to my downstairs neighbours yesterday for blaring music out and the guy was a total dick and unleashed on me about my daughter waking him all the time. I really hope that he doesn't want to piss me off tonight ;) but I guess the fireworks and general drunken street revellers will wake her anyway!

haveanothercreamcake · 31/12/2013 20:40

My neighbour on one side is having a party inside and my neighbour on the other side is having a party in their garden!
There's no escape Sad
I hate NYE.

ShadowFall · 31/12/2013 20:42

We've already had a couple of fireworks set off from what sounds like right outside our house....

WhereIsMyGin · 31/12/2013 20:48

Good luck to you all, good to know I'm not alone!

Update: all quiet here still, thank god, also baby still asleep - unprecedented! Looks like there are no full on parties happening here, just need to dread the back from pub ones now!

Us! My oh doesn't like nye, I like it but am not celebrating the end of an awful year. I've got a dehumidifier out because it's a great white nose machine!

Bithurt · 31/12/2013 21:05

Me too. Up at 5.30 for work so need my sleep!

judgejudithjudy · 31/12/2013 21:08

ffs its one nite you victors! although i have no neighbours so good night sleep for me & dc :-)

TheNewSchmoo · 31/12/2013 21:10

Me too. Had a shitty year and am alone so planning on going to bed at 11.30 and waking up tomorrow with no fuss. New day, positive thoughts and all that clichéd shit.

Neighbours are currently playing music and if I get woken up by whooping and hollering at midnight and thus reminded of my shitty year and solitude in my big empty bed I shall be mightily pissed off! Angry

TheHollyandtheIvyCrumples · 31/12/2013 21:17

sadly we have already had a note through the door from new neighbours apologising in adavance :(

now listening to crap music and lots of chatter and hoping dd2 sleeps through, its her first birthday tomorrow and our older dc are so excited there is no chance of a lie in and she still gets up at 6 for bf

sending peaceful vibes for a quiet new year! :)

Bazoo23 · 31/12/2013 21:31

how smug are you judge judy!

greenbananas · 31/12/2013 21:50

My neighbours, their children and their friends are v. v. loud already. They are all singing along to some rather catchy eastern European music Smile

I'm not bothered. My baby and my 5 year old will sleep through it. It's great to hear them having such a good time.

LuciusMalfoyisSmokingHot · 31/12/2013 22:28

Me!!!!

New years can fuck off and take 2013 with it, 2014 better be a good one.

greenbananas · 31/12/2013 22:48

Next door is getting even louder. I think there must be fifty people in that tiny terraced house, all singing - but I don't mind because they are tuneful Smile and they don't do it often.

And there are fireworks down the street.
