Could you get a holiday job?

Joysmum · 30/12/2013 10:45

PMSL I find myself feeling guilty of the same!

I live my DH and DD dearly but they both like to lay in till late and lounge about the house doing nothing. I feel like I OUGHT to be treasuring every moment with them but u feel claustrophobic. I can't stay in the house for days I. End watching repeats. I'm an outdoors girl and they won't go out cause it's raining! I love the rain.

AlaskaNebraska · 30/12/2013 10:45

ooh NO, thats not how I want it to be, I want them to clear off and I lie around Grin

I can't wait till preschool starts up again.

Back2Basics · 30/12/2013 10:50

Yes please stop making my house a mess, please stop talking to me and asking stuff of me. I'm really missing work right now. I was thinking last night how the fuck do home schooler parents cope with the never ending mess and noise.

I may have slightly flipped and banned tv last night. Have probably shot myself in the foot but I saw red when instead of tidying up their crap they were giggled eyed urgh.

Mouldypineapple · 30/12/2013 10:54

I know the feeling! Dd1 (22) has last night gone home, and DH is at work today. And it feels great to be just at home with Dd2 (4) even if all we're doing so far is housework as the weather is awful! Love them both dearly but...

Hassled · 30/12/2013 10:57

I agree. Quality family time can piss right off at this stage. They're all just here, breathing and eating and being annoying. And all that talking to me and emptying the dishwasher at irritating times - I've had enough of it.

FunkyBoldRibena · 30/12/2013 11:31

I am trying to work from home today - I do it every monday but next door are off and banging and crashing about as if they are taking all the walls out. My desk is right by their kitchen. Enough already!

Apparentlychilled · 30/12/2013 11:35

I'm with you on that. Roll on 6 Jan, when school and nursery open again!

bunnymother · 30/12/2013 11:35

Same. It's too much.

moominleigh94 · 30/12/2013 11:38

my family are dreading it! think my mum is looking forward to my brother and sister going back to school because they do demand a lot of attention and she's got uni work to do, but she keeps adding me to stay an extra week or two but I have to go back up to uni today :(

I hate the end of the holidays!!

KarenHL · 30/12/2013 11:45

We homeschool, so are halfway through today's lessons already. DD gets bored if we take more than a week off lessons.
Baby has gone up for her first nap.

Plan is for one more lesson after lunch and then a tidy up (DD not good at tidying, gets v.distracted). I may bribe with a movie & popcorn!

KarenHL · 30/12/2013 11:51

Forgot to say when she is bored, she drives me a little nuts! Trying to resist the chocs staring at me already.

DH isn't here much when working (long hours) so it's been good for him and both DDs to spend some time together (he had a few days off, is back at work from today).

Somebody's having a bit of a come-down from the hols attitude wise! 7 going on stroppy teen!

FunkyBoldRibena · 30/12/2013 11:56

Do you get paid for home-schooling? I've always wondered. If not you bloody well should be.

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 30/12/2013 11:59

Agree OP! I need the routine back!

Pinkspottyegg · 30/12/2013 12:04

Xmas hols are at the wrong time of year. I hate the 8 week build up. Xmas Day itself is fine but really for me 3 days is enough thankyou and then we really need to get out and do stuff - difficult when the weather is this bad. Oh and then a week later we are to do it all again at the Bells (Scottish - NY has more significance in Scotland)
