To be unbelievably glad that Christmas is all over...

I have had my parents and my brother to stay for over a week. My dad is a control freak. My mum has advanced Alzheimer's. My brother is not much short of completely useless... I did manage to get help for my mum but my dad wouldn't let my mum do anything on her own. My dad has been moving things around the house and taking things that aren't his. It is a bloody nightmare. Then dad's brother came, who is sometimes ok but good at spitting tacks. I don't like him. He is not normal. Nor is the rest of the family. It is a fucking dysfunctional misery. I will be in touch with SS and make sure my mum gets taken to a home, as life was nigh on impossible.

here tiger have a Brew.
My family can be a bit of a dysfunctional mare and usually I can just get on and enjoy it. This year, however I found the 'visiting family' bit quite stressful so Im happy Im home now.

That all sounds so grim. I hope things get better for you. Is there anyway you can avoid doing Christmas this way next year? So much pressure on people to have family round and it doesn't always suit.

Oh poor you. That sounds difficult. What did your dad take.... And why?

My dad moves things about. It's like gaslighting when you end up wondering if you're going mad. I know I will get blamed, but fuck it was awful. I went to a party last night and told my brother to put mum to bed as dad wanted to stay a bit longer at the party. We got home to find mum sitting alone in a room while my brother and uncle were chatting away in front of a warm fire. Nobody seems to find mum's treatment cruel and abusive apart from SS and me.
