To wish things would just get back to normal?

(Sorry if this has been done, haven't seen it anywhere else!)

For the shops to go back to normal hours,

for the council offices to be back to their shitty normal selves and sort out the dripping walls in DCs bedrroom and not be shut so that DC cant sleep in her room?

for transport to go back to normal hours?

For TV scheduling to go back to normal?

Disclaimer-DC and I are autistic and cant cope with anything different/not routine/scheduled.. that doesn't mean the world has to cater to our needs, but its still stressful for us!

Bless you. I don't like change but I can cope with it. It'll be normal again soon!

LetZygonsbeZygons · 27/12/2013 18:59

I sympathise, I don't cope with change of routine either. I feel unwell and stressed at the moment. Hope things improve for us soon eh? Smile

Was back at work today
Transport back to normal

ilovesooty · 27/12/2013 19:05

I've been back at work as norma today. The same applies to Monday and Tuesday next week. Plenty of places haven't shut up shop for days on end.

LetZygonsbeZygons · 27/12/2013 19:08

Not round where I live! Sad. saying that, we actually didn't go out today, so I may be wrong!

Hope Monday and tues are normal, got to go to bank and PO and stuff!

Me too, Letzygonsbezygons.

I de-Christmassed my house today. Tree is gone, cards are down, new toys are put away. I'm feeling slightly better, but won't feel completely right until the children are back at school and I am back at work.

And much as I love my MIL, I want my house back. I'm exhausted today, and can't cope with any smalltalk at all. She honestly is lovely, but also bullish and occasionally difficult, which gets harder and harder as my nerves get more and more frayed.

ilovesooty · 27/12/2013 19:11

Banks and post offices were open normally today and will be on Monday and Tuesday as far as I know.

PumpkinPie2013 · 27/12/2013 19:21

I love Christmas but I'm always glad when everything returns to normal so YANBU (especially with autism as I imagine it's very hard for you).

There's just something nice about the normal routine!

LetZygonsbeZygons · 27/12/2013 19:29

I know! some people might complain about the 'same old same old' and being bored by routine, but theres something to be said about knowing what time/when/how and being able to know exactly how the day will go (most of the time). I find that comforting, not boring.

Everything is back to normal, if you had been out you would of known. It was only two days

LetZygonsbeZygons · 27/12/2013 19:47

Government offices are still shut though till 2nd jan. (Don't get me started on THAT one!)

LookingThroughTheFog · 27/12/2013 20:03

My place of work is not open. The school is not open. The trains have loads of engineering work (because nobody travels at Christmas!) so MIL can't get home.

It's not just banks and buses. There are special events on TV, there are fripparies still up everywhere (apart from in my house), the supermarket is empty in some isles but strangely overflowing with caffetierres.

I know you might not be able to see it if things out of the ordinary don't jar against your nerves, but things are not back to normal.

RoseRedder · 27/12/2013 20:19

By Government offices do you mean council offices?

Our was open today.

If you have a look on your council website you should find a number for emerency repair. They will come out regardless of the day/time if there is an emergency

I know some people are saying everything is back to normal but it's not really is it until 2/3 rd Jan

LetZygonsbeZygons · 27/12/2013 20:39

I did call emergency council repairs ('normal' one was shut)but they've only got 2 people working and even though my area hasn't suffered fllod or power cuts apparently theyre full on and wont see to us and was told to call back on 2nd Jan. theyre pretty useless at the best of times TBH.

I mean its like a waterfall coming down DCs wall but its not an emergency to them!
