I have been sorting out mums Christmas present for him and its caused a lot of hassle. I didn't think anything of it and just got on with it.

I went round today and was greeted with a large bottle of Bacardi from him and he said it was a thank you as he couldn't have sorted it his self.

A whole bottle of Bacardi for me. I never expected anything so it was lovely and it really has cheered me up out of my crappy self pity mode I have been in.

He explained to mum roughly what I had done without giving it away and she said to me a smaller one and he said no, it has to be a proper bottle Grin

Envy of the Bacardi.

My step dad (although lovely and basically my dad, albeit not legally/biologically) is teetotal. And thinks everyone else should be Hmm He's getting me a steam mop this year. I'm excited. Confused

SPsWantsCliffInHerStocking · 21/12/2013 00:21

I want a steam mop Blush

mum and stepdad have got me a new hoover for Xmas and I'm excited

Its a large bottle too! Did I mention that? Cheek of the mother saying to get a small one. Obviously stepdad cares more Grin

Ahh hurray for lovely stepdads!!

My stepdad (although he got together with my DM when I was 21 so I don't generally refer to him as that) is the best!

He's so thoughtful and kind and generous, I'm so pleased my DM found him, she deserves the best.

When my dd was born he bought her a silver locket and when we moved into our house he arranged and paid for all our carpets!! Lovely man.
Oh and he's just bought my dp a motorbike (we will be paying him back for that, although will have to do it through DM as he won't take it from us.)

SPsWantsCliffInHerStocking · 21/12/2013 00:49

LJ he has only been in my life since I was 18/19 so 4/5 years but I don't know how else to refer to him Grin

Its not often I hear good stories about step parents so I wanted to share.

He is great with my son. My son has his own name for him which is similar to grandad. They would pick each other over me and my mum Grin

Mine has been in my life since I was 10. Do you have step siblings? I have four step sisters + two bio brothers and a bio sister. I don't hear many happy stories about step parents which is sad, I think, as I know mine is closer to me than my father.

Lj8893 · 21/12/2013 00:58

Yep about the same time as me then sp

I have step siblings too, but all adult, and his eldest daughter is currently in labour with his first dgc, which means my dd will have a step cousin very soon!!

My dd is 8 weeks so him and my DM will have thier hands full haha

Lj8893 · 21/12/2013 01:00

I love my df but I do sometimes struggle and compare the two as my dad isn't quite the same Confused

Shaky · 21/12/2013 01:07

That's lovely SP enjoy! Merry Christmas

Please could you make your new years resolution , I will resist the urge to post Cliff Richard pics all over MN.

Many thanks and seasons greetings to you Xmas Smile

ShylaMcClaus · 21/12/2013 01:10

My Dad gave me a steam mop and it's great for terrible ingrained stains (our dining area was previously the muddy scratchy puppy enclosure) but unless you have hoovered and scrubbed on hands and knees every speck of dust up it just moves them around.

Lovely story, OP. My DD has one like that Xmas Smile

SPsWantsCliffInHerStocking · 21/12/2013 01:21

I have step siblings but all adults and we don't see them. I have many half siblings though.

My dad isn't my bio dad. He was a "stepdad" from been a toddler who adopted me as a pre teen.

My stepdad and mum have two children though who are younger than my son!

shaky I haven't posted a picture in a while.
