Just been collared by the local busybody lady up the road. No reason other than to complain at me because someone's had the audacity to park their car out on the road opposite her house. She lives up the lane by the school. It's not blocking anyone in in any way. I suppose it might be awkward if two lorries happened to come along at exactly the same time but that's about it. She said it's always been understood that no one is to park outside residents houses. Um, right next to a primary school. Hmm

So I very politely, as diplomatically as I could muster, said well you might be on dodgy ground there as technically it's a public road and not really legally your property. She stormed off! I think I might have upset her. Grin

Disclaimer - she is a busybody and will rant at any one at any time about anything. She is wearisome and time consuming. I was polite and quite frankly I couldn't give a shit. I have a busy day and better things to think about.

What is it with people? It's a road ffs. You. Don't. Own. It.

Oh and it isn't that parents clog the road up. It is a lane. They wouldn't be able to and the school has an enormous car park. I don't know who's car it was. Might have been a neighbours for all I know.

you could have humoured her though, sometimes a rant would be all she needed. now she is probably fuming

Well done. Not unreasonable at all to point out that it's legal to park on the road outside people's houses, even if they would rather you didn't.

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 20/12/2013 09:35

Well yes I suppose so but she gets humoured a lot in my opinion and I wasn't in the mood. It is a public road! It wasn't even my car!

I was having a nice day. It's dd's birthday, it's party day at school and the world was good. Now it's tarnished. Xmas Grin

there's a bloke like that round here, we just agree with him and it seems to make him happy

I will next time. I can't be having with this at all.
