Bloody Grandma/Nan/Nanny Christmas Cards

Where is the Gran and Granny ones? Every year I have this battle.

Why oh why do they not sell any anymore? On the rare occasion I actually do find one it's always really pretty horrible or quite obvious it's mean to be from a child (which is fine when buying from DD but not when it's from me).

Anyone know if there is a shop hidden away anywhere which sells them?

I love this it's hilarious. I really want one from my Mum's dog this year :-)

Yes and also send from them!

People are very specific when they want a card though, someone once asked for a congratulations on passing your driving test card. They did not one with a picture of a car on it though and were dissapointed that we didn't have any tractor driving test cards! haha

Potus · 19/12/2013 17:06

I feel your pain. I would love to find a card for mam instead of mum but have yet to find one even up north where I'm from Confused

magentastardust · 19/12/2013 17:07

If I had a dog I would send a from the dog card to DH as a joke heartbrokenmummy!

MissWinter01 · 19/12/2013 17:10

magentastardust time to have a wee chat with the big boss? Is that not tractorist? Wink

Potus Aw that's a shame you can't find one. Honestly thinking there is a new business within this thread ha.

Well that's me £3 cheaper thanks to Moonpig. Marvellous. I got a nice pic of a wreath with DS's face in the middle. Tacky? Moi? Never!

MoreThanChristmasCrackers · 19/12/2013 17:11

Card factory do them all and if you look on your local market stalls you'll no doubt find them there.
Our local indoor market has great gran cards.

CatAmongThePigeons · 19/12/2013 17:11

I wish I'd have got everyone cards 'from the dog' now. I may have to gain a pet this year just to do this next year.

MissWinter01 · 19/12/2013 17:12

*farewellfigure" sounds lovely :-) I think I might just make a moonpig stop. Sounds better than trailing round Edinburgh in this miserable weather with a toddler.

My kids make a 'nanny' card every year for her birthday. Why not set yours a craft project?

MissWinter01 · 19/12/2013 17:17

shoppingbagsundereyes Thanks, we have actually made cards from DD but I am still hunting for cards from myself too x

I meant £3 lighter after Moonpig.. not cheaper. Ha.

I always intend for DS to make a card, and sometimes we pull it off. This year it seems to have been party, nativity, homework, reading, craft afternoon, Christmas fair, birthdays, and a never ending rollercoaster of things eating our time! Maybe he can make her a nice card for when she comes to stay in the New Year. We'll have acres of time over Christmas!

Heartbrokenmum73 · 19/12/2013 17:33

Catamongthepigeons - no, don't get a pet, just send the cards.

That would be extra creepy Grin

MrsDavidBowie · 19/12/2013 17:45

I love scribbler for cards.

BlackeyedShepherdswatchsheep · 19/12/2013 17:57

i found two designs in the card factory today.

SettingPlaster · 19/12/2013 18:07

Tell you what I hate, the title 'Nanny', 'Nan' or 'Nana' for a grandmother. Obviously a personal choice, but it always make me think of either goats or Mary Poppins. Mind you, my one year old refuses to call my mother any variant of Granny OR Nan, and, entirely off his own bat, calls her by her first name...

MissWinter01 · 19/12/2013 18:09

SettingPlaster That is such a rude thing to say given what the thread is regarding and that others have said this is what their DC call their Grandparents.

candycoatedwaterdrops · 19/12/2013 18:12

I call both of mine 'Grandma' and as a child, I always struggled to find Grandma cards, they were all Nan and Gran. There is definitely a better range than there used to be.

HectorVector · 19/12/2013 18:18

I spell it Nann, always have. Nann cards don't exist.

Neither does Grandma and Grandad (I refuse to buy them separate cards).

I end up moonpig-ing.

MissWinter01 · 19/12/2013 18:32

Moonpig it is. I give up on the hunt for the perfect card Smile

I spent ages looking for a 'Gran' card - finally found a glittery one in a closing-down sale with fluffy bunnies on it. My 88-year-old Gran was very happy with it!

As for pet cards - my cat has so far received 2 cards (!!) from my adoring mum & sis. (She ran at the cards and knocked them over which wasn't very grateful of her.)

Nanny0gg · 19/12/2013 19:05

Well Caitlin17, I've loved all the 'Nanny' cards I've received from my DGC...

And OP - try, Not on the High Street. Their search engine is a nightmare, but some sellers personalise or have them ready-made.

Nanny0gg · 19/12/2013 19:07

SettingPlaster

How does the name my DGC call me, that I called my DGM and my nieces and nephews called my mum, affect you in any way?
