to want to bite off my own hand if I see the phrase "nom nom" used by and about adults again?

Yes, I am, I know.
But I'd rather play a specially-made CD of DS scraping his nails down the blackboard than see another adult post this phrase on Facebook (and yes, I know, I just shouldn't go on there....).

'From henceforth,' decreed The Tigga 'it shall be known as Thoblewonenomnomnom.'

Sorry pink but "eeek" & "grrrr" are possibly used by those of us who grew up reading Beano and Dandy Grin

DadOnIce · 19/12/2013 16:12

I agree, it is shocking.

Along with other expressions unaccountably used by adults, such as "totes amazeballs", "LOLz", etc.

mistermakersgloopyglue · 19/12/2013 16:20

'Nommy' is worse than 'nom nom'.

Like when someone checks into Nando's and then puts 'Just sitting down to some nommy chicken - good times'.

YetAnotherNN · 19/12/2013 17:00

I hate 'nom nom' too. It has to be one of the most irritating things I see on fb. Luckily only one friend does this and I hid her from my newsfeed because of it.

Abra1d · 19/12/2013 17:05

YANBU. Definitely not.

OFten people who use this awful expression are the same ones who post photographs of their meals on FB.

farrowandbawlbauls · 19/12/2013 17:09

Scrummers. - I'd forgotten all about it.

Nom nom (was it a stupid yoghurt ad that started it?)

overmydeadbody · 19/12/2013 17:13

YANBU

I hate it, along with grown ups who speak in baby talk and grown women getting over excited and squeeling because there are biscuits in the staff room. I want to slap them with a wet fish.

overmydeadbody · 19/12/2013 17:17

When someone on FB described something as "totes Amazeballs" I knew it was time to delete them from my friends list forever.

GeeinItLaldy · 19/12/2013 17:42

I bought something from a business that trades on FB recently. In one short PM, the seller 'hunned' me twice. Twice! If I wasn't too lazy to go to the shops so busy, I'd have cancelled my order.

MaidOfStars · 19/12/2013 17:57

I have a friend who actually makes the nom nom sound when eating. I don't mean that she says it to indicate greed/pleasure, it's the actual sound her chewing makes.

PeriodFeatures · 19/12/2013 17:58

I Fucking fucking hate it. Hate it. YANBU at all. People that say this also say things like 'Amazeballs' They think they're being ironic but they are not.

Shut the fuck up people that say 'Nom Nom' you are not a cartoon childrens TV Chef, you sound like an idiot.

Sorry. I have reacted stronly to this post.

PeriodFeatures · 19/12/2013 17:59

cross post over and what is this 'squeeee' thing?. COME ON!

Fannydabbydozey · 19/12/2013 18:51

I hate nom nom. Hate hate hate hate hate.

But I still hate "inbox me" even more.

Why? What's wrong I with email me?

Lavenderhoney · 19/12/2013 18:56

I can't bear it. I feel myself get all cross and cats bum mouth:)

I was at lunch with a co worker who said " nom nom" when the waiter put down the plate a few years ago and I said " excuse me?" And they said " looks lovely" really quickly:)

Jins · 19/12/2013 20:08

I am also in the hating om nom nom camp. In fact that is the first time I have typed it.

I hope it is the last

Isn't there a yogurt called something similar?

DameDoom · 21/12/2013 09:27

God it is a vile phrase. Reminds me of those gluttonous women who go into a feeding frenzy if there is free cake available and constantly eye up the stodge even though they have a mountainous pile of food already in front of them.

limitedperiodonly · 21/12/2013 10:07

I hate it. I also hate yum. And roasties.

I'm being driven insane by people talking about 'the festive period'. It's Christmas and then it will be new year.

ToysRLuv · 21/12/2013 11:06

YANBU
