to want to bite off my own hand if I see the phrase "nom nom" used by and about adults again?

Yes, I am, I know.
But I'd rather play a specially-made CD of DS scraping his nails down the blackboard than see another adult post this phrase on Facebook (and yes, I know, I just shouldn't go on there....).

Urgh I hate "woop woop"...wtf is that?!

I don't mind nom nom, it reminds me of my DS when he started weaning. He made the same sounds.

quesadilla · 19/12/2013 13:21

"Yay" is just unspeakably awful. Cringey beyond belief. It's like listening to adult women doing baby talk.

ClockWatchingLady · 19/12/2013 13:21

I'm like a happy, sparkly, "always look on the bright side" twinkly fairy compared to you lot.

This is perfectly acceptable, Join. Just don't put it in your FB status... Grin

Now you've all mentioned woop woop, yay, scrummy and yummy as well, I'm going to have to start typing with my toes.

Oddly I find the more understated single nom more irritating....I only ever read it on MN but every time I do I quietly scream. My dsis says nummy before she eats, has done for years, it nearly puts me off my food.

pinkblossom · 19/12/2013 13:26

I hate that too. I also loathe "eeeeek" - who the f*ck would say that and "grrrrrrr". I also have a love/ hate relationship with facebook.

thebody · 19/12/2013 13:26

It's vile.

As is 'play date' for going to play!

Meds for tablets/medicine.

And worst if all MATH for maths.

Get that my 4 kids!! Really fucking annoying!!!

Mim78 · 19/12/2013 13:28

I hate it.

dawntigga · 19/12/2013 13:29

I'm eating Toblerone whilst wrapping presents.

NomNomTiggaxx

ClockWatchingLady · 19/12/2013 13:30

That'll be ToblerWone, I think, for maximum cuteness, Dawn....

I've had several compliments about the quality of my Facebook statuses, I'll have you know :o

JoinYourPlayfellows · 19/12/2013 13:32

But are you on your tobler, dawntigga?

LastOneDancing · 19/12/2013 13:33

I say 'eeek'.

It expresses my mental state perfectly on occasion e.g:

'Eek, I've got to go to dinner with Om-nom-nom friend on Friday!'

Lottiegal · 19/12/2013 13:33

Can I add that along with all the other Americanisations we are being bombarded with, 'gifted' is my personal grudge. Everyone is saying it, since when did giving someone a present mean you had 'gifted' them??? aaaargh hate it

FunnyFestiveTableRunner · 19/12/2013 13:33

I prefer yum yum, then nom nom - NEVER yummy. Yummy said by adult should = slap round the head with whatever food they are drooling over.

Lottiegal · 19/12/2013 13:35

or Thoblerwone if you had an even cuter lisp ClockWatchingLady

BlueSkySunnyDay · 19/12/2013 13:37

There is a food van I pass on the way to the shops which says something like om nom nom on it ...I struggle with the overwhelming urge to drive into it, I dont know why but it makes me feel scratchy.

I dont understand friends who photograph their dinner and put nom nom on facebook (I really like you but photographing food so it looks appetising takes more than just pointing your phone at it)

Yummy - ugh that made its way onto the school newsletters when the middle class "yummy mummies" took over briefly, I wanted to scream, thank goodness they have all moved on.

Anyone who says amazeballs...seriously wtf.

I suspect this means I am now getting old and grumpy Grin

Lottiegal · 19/12/2013 13:37

I'm so glad I have so many minutes in the day to muse over the merits of yum yum to nom nom Grin

JoinYourPlayfellows · 19/12/2013 13:41

I didn't realise that Yummy Mummies said yummy all the time :o

It's a far more literal phrase than I had imagined.

LividofLondon · 19/12/2013 13:42

"Yay" is just unspeakably awful
Oh no, I said "yay!" in a text to my f**k buddy when he announced he was on his way to my place. I get excited to see him, OK? BlushWink

And I have been known to utter the occasional "om nom nom" when I have Cake and am in a silly mood. I'm alone when I do it though so is it still considered dodgy? Blush

Julietee · 19/12/2013 13:43

I've hidden the worst repeat offender from my FB feed.

ClockWatchingLady · 19/12/2013 13:48

Livid, what a person says to their f*ck buddy, or when alone with cake, cannot be criticised....

OP posts:
SpacegirlRevisited · 19/12/2013 13:48

Om nom nom gives me the rage every time but whats this nummy you speak of? Nummy? Nummy? Bleurgh.

ClockWatchingLady · 19/12/2013 13:49

"Thoblerwone", Lottie Shock. I can never eat one again now Sad

OP posts:
ClockWatchingLady · 19/12/2013 13:51

(actually, Livid, perhaps even "nom nom" would be OK - in a creepy kind of way - in a text in your circumstances...)
