Just opened my Christmas card from dh, it said and I quote.

"Love and best wishes, hope you have a lovely Christmas xxxx"

WTAF?! Love and best fucking wishes?!!!

OP posts:
ilovepowerhoop · 19/12/2013 12:42

we dont give each other cards tbh

BrownSauceSandwich · 19/12/2013 12:45

Hahahahahaha! Grin

Hmm

Is he a knob, or just a little bit stupid?

ViviPru · 19/12/2013 12:45

Almost as good as 'all the best' from someones DF to DM on a thread yesterday Xmas Grin

Gruntfuttock · 19/12/2013 12:58

We don't give each other Christmas cards. In fact I send only one card each year.

BloddersMum · 19/12/2013 13:31

Same here. My birthday card says "all my love & best wishes, as always" he looked a bit offended when I questioned the best wishes. As for the random as 'as always' Hmm

He did buy me a day at the spa for my birthday. Random card quotes aside he is a good one.

bobbywash · 19/12/2013 14:30

More likely he's writing on autopilot as giving a christmas card to someone you live with is quite sad (unless it contians a present).

Safyre · 19/12/2013 14:33

We give each other the same cards each year... we put them away with the Christmas decorations!

randomquicknamechange · 19/12/2013 14:36

I think its nice he sent you one, I have never had a Christmas card from DH even before we were married.

yesyestisme · 19/12/2013 14:56

hahaha sorry but that is so funny.

I'm going to write that in my DH card.

And "all the best" Grin

ElizabethBathory · 19/12/2013 14:59

I'm probably being thick but I don't get it - why is best wishes funny?!

All the best is pretty cold, esp without a 'love'...

We don't give each other Xmas cards either.

WiseKneeHair · 19/12/2013 15:03

I got an e-mail to my work email from my DH's work e-mail with a generic " Merry Christmas from XXX firm" with a Christmassy picture with their logo on!
I get one every year Grin

Golddigger · 19/12/2013 15:06

Hubby[just to annoy the anti hubby word people! Grin] and I have never exchanged xmas cards to each other. Never entered my head tbh.

And on the bright side, he gave you 4 xxxxs

yesyestisme · 19/12/2013 15:20

Elizabeth what about "all the best love" ? Grin

ElizabethBathory · 19/12/2013 15:23

Haha, that would actually be even worse yes...

nouvellevag · 19/12/2013 15:26

Honest to god LOLing. Best wishes. Bless.

You can go on autopilot doing cards, though. I once signed my aunt's birthday card as "Love from ". As if she wouldn't know who I was otherwise...

LRDtheFeministDragon · 19/12/2013 15:31
Grin

Yes, he was on autopilot. I've done the opposite, though, I emailed someone very senior at university and signed off with 'Love L, xxx.'

Blush

That's worse.

weregoingtothezoo · 19/12/2013 15:33

It sounds like you are off to have Christmas elsewhere and he won't know you're having a happy Christmas!
I can't imagine NOT giving a card to my DH. His is the most important one! Goes to show, everyone's take on what's usual is different.

ViviPru · 19/12/2013 15:52

Haha yes, this. I accidentally wrote one "Love from, Impossible-to-read-Signature"....

LifeIsBetterInFlipFlops · 19/12/2013 15:52

Blimey - talk about over analysing; DH and I do give each other cards, but I couldn't tell you what he wrote nor remember what I wrote!

Mumof22222boys · 19/12/2013 16:07

DH won't get a card from me...don't think he ever has done! Nor has he given me one.

However, I do write cards, and often go onto auto pilot, kissing the wrong people....
