to want to give Christmas cards to all the school staff

Hello ladies, do you think it's unreasonable to want to give Christmas cards to almost everyone at DDs school (from the headteacher to the lady who helps children cross the road)?

We're not English so I'm worried it might look weird or as though we're trying too hard! (but it's genuine, I think they do a fantastic job and would like to say thanks and wish them a happy holidays!)

sorry, when I said we're not English I meant that we're not familiar with how these things are done here.

Nothing wrong with that. An easier way of doing it though is to write one card and send in with a tub of quality street (or similar!) - probably the same price as buying loads of cards. Parents often do this in our school and we appreciate having the chocolates on the last few days of term.

I would second trinity idea. They will stick the card up on the staff room board so everybody can read it. It will be very much appreciated. You don't need to worry about the chocs as it truly is the thought that counts.

I think it's fine - what we do is a card & a tin of biscuits for the office & staff but I get the lollipop man a box of sweets & the bus driver Smile . I buy wine for my dds teachers & assistants, but again just do one card for them.

I tend to do more cards for the teachers when the school year finishes (June where I am)

or even Trinity's idea

I would do a card and write 'to all the staff at...(insert schools name), with a box of chocs/biscuits and give it to the school secretary to put in the staffroom.

Hi Slippytoes.

At DD's school we've always given cards and small presents to her teacher and TAs, cards to the crossing lady, any dinner ladies she especially likes and the school office, and a big box of biscuits to the staff room so the head and other teachers can enjoy them.

I think I will do: one box of chocolates and one card for the teachers, another ones for the school staff at the office and another ones for the gatekeeper/lollipop lady.

I think it would be lovely to send individual cards to all the staff, it shows you appreciate them for their contribution to your child's life, no matter how big or small.

Do whatever feels right for you. No one will think you are doing it wrong when you are doing such a kind and thoughtful thing.
