WIBU to ostentatiously get up and move to escape fellow passenger's disgusting eating noises?

That's it really. Almost empty train. Will be really pointed if I move. Woman is scarfing down something from Greggs with her mouth wide open. In my view this is equal to antisocial phone use/music use. I really hate noisy eaters.

YWDNBU. I hated commuting because of things like this. shudder

Gruntfuttock · 18/12/2013 13:46

Should have added, that when I was commuting the train was always pcked, so I couldn't have moved if this happened, but I certainly would have done, whenever possible.

whereisshe · 18/12/2013 13:47

YWNBU. I've done that. I've moved entire carriages to get away from other people's vomit-smelling pasties etc.

Gruntfuttock · 18/12/2013 13:48

Packed not pcked

LucySnoweShouldRelax · 18/12/2013 13:48

I like the need to point out that it was 'something from Greggs'.

If there's free space elsewhere, then of course move. Don't see where the issue is.

quesadilla · 18/12/2013 13:49

I just can't understand how people can be that lacking in self-awareness...

5OBalesofHay · 18/12/2013 13:50

Mmmm just fancy something from greggs now

HECTheHeraldAngelsSing · 18/12/2013 13:51

what, no "gosh that sounds delicious" wide eyed innocent remark? Grin

quesadilla · 18/12/2013 13:51

Lucy yep, although to be fair I would have been just as naused out if it had been some alfalfa sprouts on a mung bean pattie with a tahini relish.

"I just can't understand how people can be that lacking in self-awareness..."

They're the same kind of people that stop dead at the end of an escalator, or immediately after they've gone through shop doorways. Oblivious to other people.

Lottapianos · 18/12/2013 13:55

You are so not being unreasonable OP. It's so disgusting. My DP sometimes 'chomps' his food noisily and it makes me wants to smash things. I have no idea how people don't hear themselves and feel suitably mortified.

MrsBennetsEldest · 18/12/2013 13:55

If you need to move, just move. So while the woman carries on eating you thought you would consult an online forum for advice. I hope she follows you with another Gregg's special.

quesadilla · 18/12/2013 13:59

I moved. She followed me :)

OP posts:
HECTheHeraldAngelsSing · 18/12/2013 14:02

She followed you?

She actually followed you?

She moved seats with you?

You got up and moved to a different seat and she got out of her seat and came to sit with you?

You're travelling together, aren't you? You're actually with her.

thankfeckitschrismas · 18/12/2013 14:05

Those noises make me stabby

LaRegina · 18/12/2013 14:07

Really? Shock

I'd be a bit scared now....

TheHeadlessLadyofCannock · 18/12/2013 14:07

Are you sure it wasn't you reflected in the train window, OP? Grin

Ifcatshadthumbs · 18/12/2013 14:08

Last week I was crammed on a train standing room only and the guy pressed up behind me was eating a big cake AND talking to his mate at the same time. I wanted to do him actual physical harm.

Lottapianos · 18/12/2013 14:08

Followed you? Is she deliberately trying to wind you up? Dear me. Can you pretend you're getting off at next stop and just go in another carriage?

diddl · 18/12/2013 14:10

Ooh-move again & see what happens!

MrsTerrysChocolateOrange · 18/12/2013 14:12

Is it your own child?

It would be my Dad and he would follow me.

LadyFlumpalot · 18/12/2013 14:13

Is it you, MrsBennetsEldest, who is eating noisily?

C4ro · 18/12/2013 14:15

It's your daughter isn't it...
Pffft.

HesterShaw · 18/12/2013 14:16

God no! Yuck, how disgusting.

I had to move the other week because of someone sniffing.

Sniff
Sniff sniff
SNIFF
sniff sniff sniff
SNIIIIIIIIFFFFFFFFFF
massive snort of catarrh

Other people should be banned on public transport.

HesterShaw · 18/12/2013 14:17

Arf at Gosh that sounds delicious! :o
