to think DS could buy his GF a silver bracelet as an Xmas surprise and get it right?

DS has about £50 to spend on bracelet for 21 year old GF. Problem is he hasn't got a clue what she'd like and he won't see her again til Christmas day so no chance to judge her reaction when out shopping.

She's not a showy sort of girl; don't have a clue what to suggest to him and he's got no contact with her friends to ask. He so wants to get it right.

AIBU to think there may be a plainish, silverish bracelet that all 21 year old GFs love? Hmm

I think that sounds like a lovely gift. The charm bracelets could be lovely because that's great for future presents too. That said, I have no idea how much they cost but I think jewellery will probably be quite a safe bet. Other options-perfume, a bag, comfy pj's and a dressing gown......oh sorry that's my wish list! Hope she likes the gift whatever it is.

Do you get Overstock.com there?. They have the BEST silver jewelry there CHEAP. Ive bought loads from there and Ds1 (21) bought his GF something from there this year. He had a lot less than 50 pounds too

Or try silver by mail -they have a website. Lots of lovely things for all tastes.

Silver pandora bracelets are £55.

various ones here
I'd go for simple rather than too fussy.
Something like this is personal without being too twee.
Or simple like thus
personally hate modern charm bracelets and wouldn't buy them for others unless I knew they wanted one as I think they are a bit love hate.

There is some beautiful stuff on Etsy and Notonthehighstreet. Check out the freshwater pearl bracelet

TheDoctrineOfSanta · 18/12/2013 07:42

Has he seen her wearing bracelets? I never do and a necklace would be a safer bet for me.

Beccadugs · 18/12/2013 07:43

Silver bangle is a fab idea. I got one for my 18th that I still wear along with a little collection of others.

For £50 notonthehighstreet do some really nice ones.

Some great ideas, thanks - DS thinks she might like the initial bracelet from Silver by mail Smile

I believe "Annie Haak" (online) bracelets are quite popular and reasonably priced.

I second not on the high street, I have bought some beautiful jewellery for friends from there, always well received.

Also, I have 10% off voucher to use online and if your DS would like to use it please pm me.

Another Not on the High St fan here. Lovely stuff!

Search for Faith Tavender at Not On The Highstreet. She does a beautiful, double-strand, fine chained bracelet mad of oxidised silver with a handmade Victorian-inspired charm and a gemstone for about £60. My DB bought me one and it's lovely.

Just make sure the size is correct - wrists are smaller than we imagine!
