How to get a job??

I want to get a job, I have been through hell and back over the last two years and not been able to work due to circumstances, however since the adoption of my son, I want to find a job, I am thinking of wetherspoons/ bar work though I have no experience but am aware wetherspoons offer training.

I just don't know where to start though to be honest.

I have done my C.V, I don't want to be travelling too far, as I am epileptic and recently started having seizures again which led me to be hit by a car, due to an absence seizure.

I am also aware that my mental health and epilepsy will make it more difficult to obtain and maintain employment.

AIBU to ask for help to get and maintain employment rather than sit on benefits?

Hi, you need to ask your benefits advisor to refer you to some sort of relevant employability programme or alternatively contact the employability department of your local council. Employability is huge at the moment and there will be lots of different return to work programmes running of you have a look. It also doesn't necessarily need to be bar work. Good luck!

Good for you! Definitely ask in the job centre for advice/assistance.

If you happen to live in Leicester city I can recommend a great free course to help you with job seeking Wink

You will be able to see a National Careers Service advisor in your job centre. Also as epilepsy is a disability under the Equality Act you should be eligible for specialist help. Good luck.
