To be tired of paying endlessly for a crap service from sky?

I am just tired of the fact that dh and I made the decision years ago to pay the extra for sky because of the perceived benefits - wide range of programmes, convenience, reliability etc. And as competitors have come to market we have stuck by them. But this week we had no broadband for 2 days. I regularly can't access the on demand functions. And my internet drops all the time.

I'm just going to have to change to Virgin or something Aren't i? I dread the hassle.

I hear you, ShoeSmacking. We used to have Sky but the signal kept dropping. It took a couple of years but we eventually switched to Freeview/Freesat and I don't care that we don't have the movie channels.

Change now, expect a bit of hassle - and enjoy your new provider, you won't regret it.

We cancelled our sky phone and broadband a few months ago after complaining about the connection speed and nuisance calls and getting no help. So glad we did. Our new provider is great.

not into football so never seen the need for Sky. Far more on freeview than we could ever need (and we don't watch crappy reality shows or talent shows).

with a modern recorder box there's no need for extras.

Don't bother going to Virgin. We have exactly the same problems. More often than not the on demand/ iplayer functions don't work at all. Regularly we lose the internet connection (it is "too busy" apparently Shock) and trying to watch anything on the computer results in endless buffeting. I'm seriously considering going to plus net for the broadband and forgetting TV altogether.
