Cannot get to grips with name changing on here

Does anybody else have this problem?

I changed my name because I wanted to go on the relationships board and just be honest about a situation rather than post half-truths by changing small details. Twice now I have posted on my thread as Trenchcoat accidentally. I kept reverting back to Trench so I could carry on with my normal Mumsnet comings and goings without putting my other user name out there too much.

I am now utterly paranoid and preying my SIL isn't on Mumsnet lurking around looking at narcissist threads like me. She will know instantly who it is, especially if she can link the info with stuff I have said as Trench .

Please tell me to stop worrying I will be outed.

Report the posts that you intended to post anonymously and ask to have them deleted.

I'm no good on actual name changing tips though as I've never done that.

I don't particularly want a recognisable identity on here, even to other mumsnetters.

I change my name frequently - at least once a month - and never reuse an old name. I've been on mumsnet regularly a couple of years now.

Just stop reusing your old name if it's so much of a worry.

Report the posts you're worried about and ask MNHQ to delete them; and maybe ask if they'd be willing to let you hold two entirely separate accounts - one as Trench for routine activity on the boards and another for relationship stuff.

I feel for you. I have to NC very regularly because someone I know IRL comes on here specifically to find me to see what I've posted and it freaks me out to think she can identify me.

check you nickname above the box before you post. maake sure you have refeshed though othewise it stays s th eoldone.

Oh God, that is what I am scared of lollerskates. The first mistake was deleted but still left my actual name on the thread, I had asked Tech to remove it.

I think I will ask for them to be removed just in case, at least so the two profiles can't be easily linked. I like being open under this user name and ask a lot of questions about things I am doing at the moment which are really identifiable. I would like to keep the family problems separate from this name as I enjoy being honest as Trench, but don't think it's fair to drag my partner in to the equation.
