To feel a bit sorry for David Platt in coronation street?

I mean his wife did sleep with his brother. Everyone is against him, except his nan and he does love those children.

Have I got the plot wrong but didn't be just grab the steering wheel in a "stop the van" way not a "I want to kill you" way?

YANBU. I don't understand the plot line at all. Surely Nick is the villain and David the poor victim. Nick is an awful cad and needs a slap for sleeping with his brother's wife FFS. Plus Kylie's kid, Max, loves David as a parent.

That's what I don't get mamapingu. It's not like he planned for a truck to come out of nowhere and plough into them! As far as I remember he was trying to stop the van as nick was away to come clean and David didn't want Kylie to know he knew.

The whole thing is driving me crazy, nick is bloody annoying I'd try and kill and do the job properly

Finally! Someone sees it like I do! David was trying to stop the van, not kill Nick. Nick's in the wrong, he slept with his brother's wife! Yet everyone's turned against David! Don't know why I watch it, winds me up!

It's a pity that Corrie can't lure actors back for one off little appearances (er Martin) at weddings or christenings.

Kylie was wavering a bit in David's favour. But he's shown psychopathic traits on and off for years. Yes he was wronged big time, but what he then did (his 'go to' behaviour) was downright creepy.

Nick is exhibiting post-traumatic MH issues - they've an opportunity to show how these can be managed and maybe overcome. But they're teeing it up for drama, not support.

Gail's probably a lost cause....

I don't get it either. His wife fucked his brother and his brother fucked his wife. But nobody seems to think there was anything wrong with that or that they've done anything wrong.

Leanne however was in high dudgeon and everybody was feeling sorry for her because Nick had sex with someone else after she'd dumped him at the altar.

I am getting a bit annoyed with it, the writers seem .to think that rather than how the actors behave driving the story it should be a matter of who you like or not.

E.g. If a sympathetic character does something wrong it's fine. If an unsympathetic character has something bad done to them they deserve it

I am beginning to feel a bit sorry for David myself. Never thought I would, but there you go. There seems to be lots of blame to go around in this storyline.

Yes yes yes! I posted about this on the corrie thread. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who sees this. Nick and kylie crossed the line completely. In my book sleeping with your brothers wife is worse than your brother trying to kill you because he's angry. Kylie is a little bitch. She sold max three times to becky. Drove becky to a breakdown and divorce. Was a vile nasty character who slept with nick but now we are supposed to like her and believe her earth mother act. The writers must think we were born yesterday. It would have done everyone a favour if nick had died. His character is terrible and don't get me started on his acting.

I think it was also about the other things david did to nick. Like watering down the drinks in the bistro to get nick in trouble ect

Though (not real not real) I do remember when DavidandKylie practically evicted Gail so they could get the house.

And he married Kylie then told his mum he was moving her in...then moving Max in.

How about 'if you are old enough to marry and adopt a child, get yer own house'.

Does he have a joint mortgage now with Gail ?

I dunno,i think he did want to kill him more than once.I feel for him because all he wants is his own happy unmessed up family but he will never get that because his whole family are a screwed up mess but then again how many twisted things did that character do instead of just saying "look kylie i know,i can forgive you because clearly I am prepared to" .I mean cmon.A hinged person would just say they knew to nick and kylie not do all the crazy shit he did to seek revenge which was crap revenge as noone knew who or why david was doing it.So yeah sad for this fictional guy but tbh david couldve been normal and predictable and then his family wouldnt be horrified and scared senseless by him.

YANBU It was Kylie and Nick who started it in the first place by sleeping with each other and Kylie is coming out like she has done nothing wrong and she's the innocent one. I don't blame David and i'm also struggling to see why David is not allowed in his own house!

And nick and kylie have had a few longing looks at each other too. Cannot stand either of them. At least David is funny when he becomes psychotic. Nick just stands there gurning like prince Charles. And kylie makes Leanne look interesting.
