...out with a note saying "Do not put any more catalogues though my letterbox as I will put them straight into the recycling bin.", and then keep my word?

I feel bad binning them so I do wait two days after they say they will collect, if it is still there then I will bin it!

Why do you think they ignore the notice, and the polite label in the first catalogue?

kennyp · 11/12/2013 21:58

i worked for betterware (EURGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and to cut a long story short i have an impolite notice on my letterbox saying "no betterware catalogues" as i feel totally affronted by them and hate them with an absolute passion.

it's a bloody awful job and i worked my everythings off for about £3 per hour.

The other one was Kleeneze, but they seemed more organised and didn't leave a second one.

I'm with Silver. I leave the catalogue out with a note politely saying "no more catalogues please". If they leave more after that they go straight in the recycling bin and I don't feel guilty about it. Plus has there ever been anything worth buying in the Betterware catalogue??

I used to work with someone who did Avon in her spare time. When collecting the catalogs, if they hadn't put it out and didn't open the door to her she would knock on the windows and peer through the letterbox shouting for them! She'd even go into their garden and try the back of the house! She honestly believed she was right to do this and would give a go full of abuse to anyone who she could see avoiding her or who admitted to throwing it away. She had paid for the catalogs, you see, so they had stolen them from her.

She was weird.

I get so much shite through the door so I keep them all to the side for a couple of weeks then when I've got a massive pile I pick one out and deliver them all to that business. Doesn't do much re junk mail but boy do I feel good After

They don't have to pay for the catalogues like kleenezy do but what I do is write on the catalogue itself, my name, street and house number and say no more catalogues please - that's always worked. If a new distributor starts you may have to do again, but they're generally quite polite and understand.

I'm with Silver - we have "no unsolicited mail/cold callers" signs up on all lampposts and we have one on our front door. If people think the're above complying with the wishes of the householder then that's their own tough luck.

Straight from letterbox, straight into recycling.
