to want to send 4 miniture bottles of whisky to the Channel Islands!?

My brother and his family live in the Chanel Islands. I want to send them a parcel for christmas containing warm socks, a teddy, some chocolate and a box of 4 miniture whisky bottles (nice whisky).

Took it to the post office and stupidly answered the ladies queries about the contents of the parcel honestly - big mouth strikes again! So apparently I can send 3 bottles of whisky not four. Despite the fact they all contain 5cl and I could send him 3 large bottles Arrgghh

So do I go to another P.O. and lie or do I drink one of the minitures?

I wrapped it up all nice and they are in a presentation box but will it get stopped at customs and never get there if I don't!??

Anyone here familiar with channel Islands post checking ...?

join one of the many whisky clubs,

and get a bottle sent to your brother,

and buy yourself a nice hip flask,(lots of amazing vintage ones on ebay), fill with the whisky.

the universe meant you to have a hip flask full of whisky for all the bracing Christmas walks.

and your brother will get his bottle.

You have to list of on the back of the parcel on a green customs sticker if it's coming from the CI. No idea if it's the same going back. My guess is that if you put alcohol on the back it's more likely to get stopped and searched just to check that it's the amount you say it is. Couldn't say for sure though.

Could you split it up and send it as two parcels, each with two bottles in? Perhaps sent on different days. Might cost more though.

I do like the notion of a flask of whisky at my hip Quote ... but you know, when you have an idea about what would be a nice gift, then someone comes along with a coil of red tape ... it just sticks in my craw.

But maybe that is a better idea, two parcels will be pricey so I want to send just one. Bah

I would just state 20cl of whiskey, then you're not lying :)
