To give DN an item that belongs to my DC for Christmas?

DN is exactly a year younger than DC2. Last year I bought DC2 some 'Thats Not My' books since DC1 loved them at the same age. They didnt go down that well.
They have stayed in the bookshelf untouched, pristine.
I asked SIL what what her little ones wanted for Christmas and she said DN loved books. Ive just been looking on Amazon and was about to buy a few 'Its Not My' books when the books on my shelf caught my eye. I just got them out and they totally unmarked in still brand new condition.

It seems ludicrous to buy more when I could give them these.

Would you?

Definitely would.

Yes, definitely. Why buy for the sake of it?

I think that's absolutely fine. There are 3 years between my DN and DD. DD has received lots of hand me down toys as birthday and Christmas presents, and not in pristine condition either. DD is only 1 and doesn't know any different, and it seems a waste of money to buy new for DD when DN is growing out of things and happy to pass them on.

Exactly! And they have 10 'Its Not My' books so its not like Id leave them with none. And the other million books they have.

Course that's fine :)

It's fine!

Yes definitely. They are in new condition. I was really sad, one christmas as a child, I got a game from my up half sister. It was clearly secondhand, pieces were missing, just summed up how she felt about me. They were and still are very well off, her dh had a good job. She is 22 years older than me and always resented me!

Yes, no reason why not.

I have bought my DN a couple of extra games from the charity shop.
