To think that breaded ham is pointless?

I love a bit of ham and eat it from the packet but really what is the point of the breaded stuff? Who came up with the idea of putting weird orange breadcrumbs on perfectly nice ham? Honey roast ham fine, smoked ham yum, but breaded?? Why?

Yanbu I agree. And it's not even like proper breadcrumbs.

I know!! I think that's why it's so pointless, it just turns to orange mush that falls off everywhere. It doesn't add anything to the ham, if they'd left it as is it would still be fine.

I agree.The crumbs are on the fat that I take off anyway.

I always thought it was a way of showing that the ham was cut off the bone and not 'reformed'.

When ds1 was 3 he thought that it was the pig that was crumbed not the ham! And asked why the crumbs on the pig didn't fall off in the rain

Ooh I like it. I have dry-fried breaded ham and egg on toast for breakfast regularly. The breadcrumbs crisp up and taste delicious!
