To complain about this massage?

I've never complained about one before, feels a bit weird.

Booked myself a full body massage at a spa I've used for 5 years. I've had a bad year and thought I'd treat myself.

Therapist started 15 minutes late, room was cold, bright light on, it was rushed, slap dash, rough and not in the least relaxing. At the end (after 45 mins, should have been an hour) she turned the bright light back on!!

In comparison the girl who did my facial later was amazing, didn't rush, very methodical, low lighting etc.

It left me with a headache which has taken all weekend to shift

AIBU to complain and what do I say? Don't want the girl to get into trouble but she could deffo use some training

A massage isn't simply a 60 minute rub down it should be a total sensory experience from the moment you enter the spa until you leave. Massage is not only great for relieving tension it's also taking care of your well being.

I'm glad you said something and I hope your next treatment is everything it should be

please do say something - a massage should be lovely and relaxing not cold and rushed

I have sports massage (weekly at the moment due to a dead leg and bad back) which is not nice, painful and brutal but a beauty treatment is a treat and you should be treated like a values customer

Small anecdote if no-one minds...

Whilst on holiday in Greece there were various people wandering up and down the beach offering massages. It's the type that is performed on the nearest sunbed type thing. I'd had one the previous year which was lovely and relaxing. Decided to have another one only this time, when asked if I'd like a "gentle" "medium" or "hard" massage, I opted for "hard" as I felt I needed it.

Well, bugger me, what followed was the worst 30 minutes! This woman pummelled me from pillar to post. And worse, because I was in full view of about three hundred fellow sunbathers, I pretended that all was well. Being as I'd opted for it an all...

Could hardly stand afterwards!
