Just because you take in to account context in which the verses are revealed doesnt mean we are saying it is out of date. There is a whole science of Quranic studies. Part of what they look at is something called asbab al nuzul which means reason for its revelation aka context. Thats why most muslims dont commit atrocities not because we dont have as strong or even a stronger faith then radicals. How hard is that to understand.

I have had 2 muslim friends in my life. One was before I knew anything about Islam. I was shocked when he underwent a forced marriage though.
The other one I've lost touch with, and I wasn't close enough to ask her these questions. If I hadn't moved town I would have got round to it though. She was extremely intelligent and I would like to know what she really thought.

If it was the question re assad and israel etc, I already told you that I probably agree with you about most of it.
