Be strong, he does need it on Smile

WaffilyVersatile · 06/12/2013 21:08

I would put it on him. My beagle hates hers too but when those stitches start itching he wont be able to resist!

ThursdayLast · 06/12/2013 21:08

I would leave it on. They can't be trusted not to worry away at the stitches.

blobandsnail · 06/12/2013 21:08

Yes of course he does!

Lozislovely · 06/12/2013 21:08

I wasn't offered a cone - just advised to keep an eye and if he 'fiddled' with his bits or should that be lack of bits, to request one.

id take it off and see if he goes near the stiches, my dog after he got done never went near them so didnt bother with the collar

Iamsparklyknickers · 06/12/2013 21:25

Aw, make him up a bed on the floor.

It's hard, but honestly it's a few days in the rest of his [empty] nut licking days. It's just not worth the complications.

My cats have usually figured out how to get the cone off after a few days anyway, but the wound has usually healed a fair bit by then and they've not managed to reopen anything.

You could try and fashion a secure body suit out of an old tshirt (I vaugely remember finding some stuff on line), but I'd only use it for nights/short periods.

NearTheWindmill · 06/12/2013 21:29

Well he'll look a lot sadder if you give him the opportunity to get at those stitches. Short term pain; long term gain. No pain, no gain.

LST · 06/12/2013 21:34

We have let him have it off when he is in view. He has been told off for lifting his leg for a lick! So I think it best him wear the cone Sad

I've put the cushion out of his bed on the floor next to the radiator. I'd let him come to bed with me but he is such a fidget arse! He wakes the cats which then wake me.
