To just want to allowed one day to recover?

This is mainly a rant so apologies in advance! I have been looking after our sick children for the past week and a bit - eldest came down with a severe vomiting bug, then the 18month old had it (trip to a and e as dehydrated) then the 8month old (diarrhoea as well for her!) - all in all 9 days worth Sad.
DH then gets it sat/sun and needs all that time in bed to recover Between runs to the bathroom- and took yesterday off to "be sure it's def gone and I feel better" - low and behold yesterday I start feeling pretty crap, then spent almost entire night awake feeling nauseous and generally crap - DH skips merrily off to work this morning with a "you'll be fine!"

AIBU to just want one day to be ill?! I know he has work and it's important but why is my health second to anyone else's? Sad I can't even offload kids to anyone as littlest one still recovering.

[rant over feel free to participate in the ranting]

Wouldn't ithavebeen better ranting to him and telling him howit is rather than the Internet?

TakestheMNbiscuit · 03/12/2013 07:44

I know Sad

I did say I needed a day to recover but he is under major pressure at work so as rough as I feel I also appreciate the position he is in - it just needed to be off my
Chest!

NYANBU Far from it. Hope you are all feeling better. Make sure you take a day off perhaps when you are feeling better and make sure your DH looks after the kids so you can actually ENJOY a day off.

TakestheMNbiscuit · 03/12/2013 07:54

Thanks isme that sounds amazing

*wistfully dreams of a day such as that :)

Aww - poor you. My sympathies.

My DH will stay off work with a cold. He gives the appearance of having a lovely time watching daytime TV and surfing the net and refuses to drink my revolting but therapeutic lemon/ginger/honey drinks, and makes no effort to wrap up warmly presumably he doesn't want to risk getting better too quickly.

It's very annoying.

Hope you feel better very soon.

The very hardest thing about being a Mum in my opinion is caring for children when you are ill. You have my sympathies.

Calloh · 03/12/2013 11:03

We have this problem too. It is the biggest PITA.

I have occasionally asked DH to stay behind but he looks pained and grumpy and then I capitulate.

Hope you feel better soon Takes

Thanks so much everyone! Feeling a bit better after deciding to attempt nothing except "make it through the day!" Mainly flopping on sofa with Disney films :)
