Those who wish to have support from an eating disorders section in MN, to take a look in Site Stuff. I have made a request for one, since this is currently a topic not really covered.

I am not sure that we'd need an entire topic....what about a thread like the Brave Babes...that's a thread for Alcoholics. They make a new one every time it gets full.

SoleSorceress · 02/12/2013 23:42

I think it is a brilliant idea!

IWishYouWould · 03/12/2013 17:34

ICame, the reason I sugested a section is that there are so many different eating disorders. One thread simply wouldn't be able to cater for everyone. There are so many other varied issues that come with these conditions too. We need a section for people to go where we can choose which aspect to talk about. So far my experience has been lots of people looking for the support on MN that isn't here...yet.

I suppose it could go in mental health?

ICameOnTheJitney · 03/12/2013 21:12

A thread I mean.

WooWooOwl · 03/12/2013 21:18

If there are lots of full threads and there's evidence of a need for a whole topic, then fair enough, but I'd have thought that threads in mental health could do the job.

There are already so many topics on MN, and if you had one for ED's, the why not one for cancer, diabetes, neurological conditions etc? its a question that would have to be answered as soon as you give a topic to one single type of illness. it could be endless.

revivingshower · 03/12/2013 21:23

It would be good if these long support threads could be made easier to find for those who need them. Maybe a sticky with links?

IWishYouWould · 04/12/2013 11:32

woowoo and reviving, you both have really good points in your posts.
