Had to work late last night. Kids went to their dad. Called in here to pick some stuff up at around 5.45. I got home at 10.45.

Kids went in, lifted their bits, exH also "stepped in" to help them with bags of stuff.

They all then left and

  • left every light in the house on
  • left the front door open. Not just unlocked but OPEN.

I am fuming. And have been told by ex I'm BU. I think he should have looked to see if the door was shut as he drove away. Or asked the kids if they'd locked the door. Kids are 15, 13 and 11.

He says he just carried stuff out and put kids in car. Kids say he was last man out. Which I have a bit of an issue with as well tbh.

It is my responsibility. I should have made sure they knew to lock the door. They DO. They get themselves out in the morning and the door is ALWAYS locked. They said he was last out. I don't like that - what did he need to be last for?

Also, it's my fault he didn't know when to collect his son from rugby. I should have let him know. He had a months notice of the swap (he usually does a Wednesday but I was at a thanksgiving thing) - I think he should have talked to his son.

He'd have seen all the lights on even if he wasn't the last one out anyway, and should have really gone to check.

Thank you all. I didn't think I was but I was starting to doubt myself
