I'm sure I'm not being unreasonable but am seething! I was walking through our quiet residential area with DS fast asleep in his buggy.

The road is a long one the whole way through the estate and the bit where my hou is is on the end next to a corner.

I crossed over on the straight bit as there were no cars as I got 3/4 of the way across a car (huge 4x4 not that that is relevant) came round the corner. Instead of slowing down so I could reach the curb he accelerated loudly towards me and DS clearly trying to prove some point although I'm not sure what. I had to then hurry to the curb. AIBU or was this man a dangerous knob head!!

I'm pretty sure he had no point to prove anyway because once you were on the road you had right of way and he should have given way to you.

That is exactly what I thought Tarka it wasn't even as if I had tried to get across quickly in front of him the road was clear until I was 3/4 of the way across. When I got on the pavement and looked back to give him a filthy look his wife in the passenger seat was shaking her head at me! Clearly they could not afford the 5 seconds extra it would have taken to let me and DS across safely!

My 2year old shouts NAUGHTY CAR! at any that do this. After I half snapped and yelled at an idiot driver once. (Note that I half snapped. If I'd actually snapped DS would be shouting something very different).

At a rough guess, I'd say a Q7/X5/XC90 or possibly a Cayenne. These tend to be driven by the most egregious twats imaginable, all of whom are considerably more important than yow. Proper off-roaders like Lannies and the Japanese swampthings are driven by people who don't mind when they get there.

I was going to post in defence of 4x4 drivers but only defender drivers I see that someone has already done it.

Yanbu, they are the same people that accelerate towards junctions then slam on the breaks, ignore crossings, over take on corners, just generally drive like twats.

If it happens again, do your best to get the reg plate/part of the reg plate and make and colour and report them to the police for dangerous driving. Deliberately nearly hitting a pedestrian who is crossing sensibly and in clear view and doesn't have the luxury of being able to run out of the way is incredibly dangerous.

What a twat. I had an incident where the road was partially blocked so cars were restricted to one lane, generally having to give way at times to oncoming traffic, taking turns to go. I was on the footpath with the buggy. One twunt mounted my side of the footpath so they could drive on unopposed! Forcing me to squash into a hedge and partially hoist the buggy sideways in the air. Could not believe what they had done. Stupid idiot.
