Depends what it is for. Fine as photo id but not to apply for job or DBS

The paper bit has on it any points or disqualification etc. That is the legal part.

It's for DBS. I have no problem with finding it - but I can't see why I need it for a DBS as it does not add anything useful that wouldn't come up on a DBS.

Isn't it to authenticate the address and dob, and it depends which section you are using it in as to whether you need the paper part or not

The paper part of the licence does make it clear that the licence is only valid if both parts are presented together. Annoying, but true.

Unfortunately the DBS and the Home Office don't agree with you (I have to check people's ID for DBS & eligibility to work in the UK. )

I haven't needed the paper part for either of my dbs checks

I know - you'd have thought that a photocard licence, picture etc would be proof of who you actually claim to be
