tshirtsuntan · 25/11/2013 21:18

Was it from Barry and Janet? Grin

MyNameIsWinkly · 25/11/2013 21:18

YANBU. Its NOVEMBER. Bah fucking humbug.

LadyEnglefield · 25/11/2013 21:21

We got our first one on 16th November from DP's relations in the West Country.

Makes a change, they usually send them out so they arrive after Christmas!

phantomnamechanger · 25/11/2013 21:22

Just watched Corrie and by the pols of things everyone's been sending their cards early. Made me look at the cards in the background instead of being worried about poor Faye!!!

What is it with people this year wanting to start Christmas mid November? It's really bloody odd!!

Two people on FB have already put their trees up, someone up the road from us have flashing lights up and now people are sending cards - it'll be finished before it's started at this rate Confused

purrtrillpadpadpad · 25/11/2013 21:30

Ah c'mon, it's nearly December. Hasn't the holidays are coming ad been on yet? That decrees when Christmas starts, right?

I know, I sound extraordinarily shallow, and I'm totally missing the true point of Christmas...

purrtrillpadpadpad · 25/11/2013 21:31

Downstairs - did you mean you're?

fluffyraggies · 25/11/2013 21:32

Oh don't.

My mum wrote all her cards out about 3 weeks ago.

I had her on the phone last week saying i can save myself the price of a stamp if i quickly get an xmas card ready and then take it to her this week to hand to a relative who's visiting.

sheesh

It's November. I'm not buying or writing out any xmas cards yet thanks. I'll pay the 60p next month.

oh that's another thing - those who start early and then finish on the day after boxing day as if they are sick of it when it's only really just starting! I could not believe my eyes when on 27th last year Tesco was all back to normal, not a tinselly baubley decoration anywhere. They have confused the 12 days of christmas for the 12 weeks before christmas I think!

Got our first one last week from my brother, who is possibly the most disorganised person on the planet and usually gives out cards on Christmas Eve if at all. We are now wondering if he's after something Hmm

I have to send cards early as Canada Post are notoriously shit this time of year. Their cut off date for surface mail parcels to reach the UK in time for Christmas was mid October!!

lifesgreatquestions · 25/11/2013 21:41

Wonderful! I love Christmas cards. Hate it when they arrive only a day or two before Christmas.

Oh I like the early Christmas cards. They're the ones most likely to have a beautifully crafted hilarious round robin boast letter.

I do so love to hear about Ptolomy and how his reception teacher has already contacted Cambridge to suggest they keep an eye on him...

TheRaniOfYawn · 27/11/2013 07:17

I got one from my father yesterday but that is because we have a family in-joke about cards with a picture of a stagecoach and he found one so sent it straight away.
