I'm having carpet fitted in 4 bedrooms tomo. The upstairs has quite a narrow hall/landing so I couldn't possibly empty 4 rooms. Wibu to empty 2 rooms only. Does anyone have experience of carpet fitters. Will they want me to fill the rooms already laid and empty the others while they are here? I'll be on my own with the kids! HELP. Haven't works out the logistics here need advice pls.

Have you a couple friends/ relatives who can come round or be on standby in case carpet fitters won't move stuff?
Difficult one for you...

I had this and for an extra £30 they moved it. I did arrange it in advance though.

Carpet fitters prefer empty rooms but generally will move furniture and charge extra for this. They usually ask about this when you arrange fitting.

Unlikely they will have the time to help tbh

Captainbarnacles1101 · 25/11/2013 19:54

Ok well if they charge extra to help that's grand. If they can't help I'm fooked!!!

They will help you move stuff out, but most will say don't put stuff back for overnight to let the carpet lie right so might not help you put it back.

we just had carpets fitted last week. theyasked for one bedroom (out of three) empty amd as they were fitting that carpet DP emptied the secomd then the third as the second one was getting laid. they did help move some stuff. DP thenhad to put.it all back.

Oh thanks walking! That is useful info. I could do that. I have one room empty except for a very heavy wardrobe. My neighbour reckons they can fit carpet with a wardrobe or bed still in the room.

We've always put everything in one half of the room then that gets lifted onto the half that's laid
