To wonder who would call a child Elektra?

Heard this when out yesterday. Didn't the original Elektra want to kill her mother?
Also the mother (real one, not the Greek one) had the table manners of a famished farmhand.

Sonny where I grew uop was what strangers called random little boys. "Here sonny, do you want your ball back?" etc. When I first heard it, fresh out of the sticks, as an actual given name I thought it showed a distinct lack of imagination on the part of the parents

Of course now I am a much more sophisticated city dwelling type, I think it's a lovely name

Honestly, I'd call a daughter Elektra before I'd call her Mia or Lily or Esme. All nice names, but around here there are so many of them you might as well call your daughter Girlsname#1, Girlsname#2 etc.

I know for certain of twinnies called Harlequin(Harlie) and Columbine(Collie).Hope nobody steals the names.

filimou, there is a Fox in my DCs school, but his sister is called Honey, not La-a....

When I first read that Ladasha thing, I didn't quite get it and thought it (la-a) was a way of representing a glottal stop to make it easier for the slack jawed!

I was going to call my child Electra, if he had been a girl. I rather liked it actually.
