AIBU to think that it's perfectly acceptable to buy DS1 a pink teapot set for Christmas as I think he'd really like playing with it? DH is against me buying it as it's pink and 'girlie'...

Sainsburys has a yellow tea set at the mo. think it's 3 quid :)

Are you getting it because it's pink or because it's the nicest teapot?

If because it's the nicest, the one that your DS wants, then fine.

DS is too little to have an opinion on colour, I like it, not because it's pink (I personally can't stand the colour), but because it plays songs and makes tea noises which I know DS will love. My intention wasn't to wind DH up, but I may as well have a little sport now that I know it does Grin.

Bloob did you get the teaset in store or online? I want one for my LO.

Sorry for the hijack OP! I think YANBU if you are getting it for the songs/noises.

My toddler boy has a pink tea set that sings, and which was a present from his macho taekwondo black belt uncle. He plays with it in his kitchen. He also has punk toothbrushes and remarks admiringly on whichever of the Pointy-Hatted Princesses wears head to toe pink.

Of course not...but why not get him a neutral coloured one...saves arguments. www.elc.co.uk/on/demandware.store/Sites-ELCENGB-Site/default/mProduct-Show?pid=137447#q=teapot

If it's the Fisher Price one with a little plate of cakes which sings songs about Please and Thank You, then it's an ace toy and has been much played with in our house, by boys and girls alike.
