To think Mr Bear only has himself to blame if he's tired?

Is it so hard to ask Mrs Bear to roll over?
Or actually get baby Bear to sleep, rather than leave him up playing all night?
Or if that's too much like parenting, how about move the clock to a different room and sleep on the sofa?
Maybe fix the dripping tap that Mrs Bear has probably been nagging about ?

Don't be such an idiot that you strop out to the garden to sleep!

have read Peace at Last one too many times and I am about to snap

yeah i thought that too. i gave the book away in the end

MrsBearWasTired · 21/11/2013 11:19

It's a boring story too, apart from him being so bloody, irritatingly useless.

Mr Bear doesn't know how lucky he has it. If he truly was pulling his weight in parenting, he'd be able to sleep in the corner at a preschool disco. Clearly he is spoiled for sleep!

Thurlow · 21/11/2013 14:08

Ha!

I don't understand why he doesn't just give Mrs Bear a decent poke until she rolls over. Or tell Baby Bear that it's lights out time, put the toys away and be quiet.

Has anyone noticed the clocks in the story? They start going to bed at 9, and get up at 7!!!

DD loves this book. I don't mind it actually.

RenterNomad · 21/11/2013 14:35

YES!

MrsBearWasTired · 21/11/2013 17:04

Absolutely, crispy! Think I have put my 3 off it now with my muttering all the way through it!

Yep, not my favourite story. I was thinking it was going to be about Can't you sleep Little Bear? I lose the will when reading that one. I can empathise to an extent with Mr Bear-my husband snores and once awake I find it hard to get back to sleep. He needs white noise.

Sparklymommy · 21/11/2013 18:12

Yes to fixing the drippy tap!

Finola1step · 21/11/2013 19:45

Tick tick

Shine shine

missfliss · 21/11/2013 21:22

Cuckoo cuckoo.
Read it ten zillion times. My DS (2) adores it

brightnearly · 21/11/2013 21:44

Every time Mr Bear gets woken up by that alarm clock after a sleepless night I feel his pain, though. A cup of tea is better than nothing, but still.

brightnearly · 21/11/2013 21:44

I can recite that book by heart now.

purplestripysocks · 21/11/2013 22:12

Also, why do they take candles up to bed when they have electric lights (and for the humming fridge)?

StanleyLambchop · 21/11/2013 22:19

The 'shine shine' thing is annoying. The sun rising does not make a noise (although it will annoy the fussy bugger by making it too light)
