This position is temporary and will last until July 2014.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable, and self-motivated Unqualified Teacher of Maths to join *** Academy, starting as soon as possible.

The ideal candidates will possess a minimum of 4 GCSE’s (Grades A*- C) including English and Mathematics or equivalent. Experience of working in a similar role would be desirable.

I would be furious if my child's maths teacher only needed a C grade in maths.

I can't even believe the salary. That is going to reduced as it is Term time only.

Good grief. They don't even want A Level Maths, let alone a teaching qualification? I'd qualify for that job, and I definitely wouldn't be impressed if I discovered that my dc were being taught by someone with my level of Maths skills.

If this is a secondary then that is awful, if it were a school at which I had a child I would be withdrawing them.

I thought that an unqualified teacher was someone who hadn't completed a PGCE or similar. Don't they still need a degree in their subject?

I bet a million pounds private schools don't hire maths teachers with only 4 GCSEs.

Unqualified was supposed to mean no QTS, not not enough GCSEs to get into 6th form!

No, I meant that teachers do not have to be qualified to teach in private schools and now, thanks to Gove, acadamies are going the same way.
