Fairenuff · 19/11/2013 21:42

Well, that's acadamies for you.

Bradsplit · 19/11/2013 21:43

Have you a web link ?

OrlandoWoolf · 19/11/2013 21:44

No naming and shaming. But you'll see the salary is term time only Grin

Well it's better paid (and more qualified) than some cover supervisors I know.

gordyslovesheep · 19/11/2013 21:45

there you go then - Gove's dream realised - who needs qualified, trained and experienced teachers - and old fool can do it

mercibucket · 19/11/2013 21:45

is this for real? scary

freezation · 19/11/2013 21:45

This just shits on my 2 years of A-levels and 5 years of degree and post-grad to become a teacher...

Bradsplit · 19/11/2013 21:46

If I google it will I find if ?

Bradsplit · 19/11/2013 21:46

Leeds ?!

Philoslothy · 19/11/2013 21:47

It students do not have a cover supervisor every lesson.

I would be furious if my child's maths teacher only needed a C grade in maths.

This is what happens when you start to dismantle the teaching profession

Hassled · 19/11/2013 21:47

You can almost feel the standards rising from here.

OrlandoWoolf · 19/11/2013 21:48

Might be up North Grin

I can't even believe the salary. That is going to reduced as it is Term time only.

Good grief. They don't even want A Level Maths, let alone a teaching qualification? I'd qualify for that job, and I definitely wouldn't be impressed if I discovered that my dc were being taught by someone with my level of Maths skills.

If this is a secondary then that is awful, if it were a school at which I had a child I would be withdrawing them.

I thought that an unqualified teacher was someone who hadn't completed a PGCE or similar. Don't they still need a degree in their subject?

Fairenuff · 19/11/2013 21:51

It's no different to how private schools have been for years.

wimblehorse · 19/11/2013 21:52

Jesus.
Even teaching yr 8 maths you would want someone with more depth of knowledge than a C at GCSE. That's appalling Shock

I bet a million pounds private schools don't hire maths teachers with only 4 GCSEs.

Unqualified was supposed to mean no QTS, not not enough GCSEs to get into 6th form!

Fairenuff · 19/11/2013 21:55

No, I meant that teachers do not have to be qualified to teach in private schools and now, thanks to Gove, acadamies are going the same way.
