Sullenness
Wet beds
Skiddy pants
Jam and crumbs dropped all over the kitchen
Whining
Clothes covered in mud and left on bedroom floors
Fighting with siblings
Unflushed toilets
Never showering unless nagged to

Argh!!!

Wait until they are teenagers! Then you'll be sighing for the "good old days" Trust me! Wink

Tee2072 · 16/11/2013 16:11

Oh I am so looking forward to this.

You know, in a way that I'm not.

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 16/11/2013 16:13

It gets better.
2 older teenagers and a 12 yr old DS here. Once they get past Yr 9 it's lovely.

Crack the whip though - for their own and your future DiLs' sakes. Smile

EEw. Make them wash the pants themselves! The beds....some kids can't help that...but wiping arses properly!? NO way would I have that!

WaitingForMe · 16/11/2013 16:21

I have zero tolerance. I identified the thing they care most about (Xbox) and every infraction loses them five minutes from the time allocated to playing on the Xbox.

They will never have a TV in their room and all games consoles belong to DH so that we can control their usage. I have made peace with the fact they may sometimes hate me, frankly I care more that they are clean and polite individuals. If they really want a TV/console they have the opportunity to earn money and buy it themselves.

I cannot abide skanky males regardless of age.

thebody · 16/11/2013 16:21

er the beds arnt wet with urine!!!

thebody · 16/11/2013 16:26

it gets better but you have to have rules and washing is right up there next to polite grunts as opposed to impolite ones.

mine are now 24 and 23 and lovely.

have teen girls though and that's far far far far far far far harder. the tears, diets, hormones, spilt makeup, hair products all over the bathroom, arse skimming skirts, boys. ewwwww

happyyonisleepyyoni · 16/11/2013 16:28

Mine are on a total console ban for fighting with each other.

Yes we have rules and enforce them, I am just sick of everything being a battle.

I also have a toddler DD, god help me if girls are worse :(

I'm stuck in that place too, my sympathies. Smile

There is NO reason that they cannot clear up after themselves. Teach your children some manners fgs
