To want to wear my maternity clothes once baby is here...?

I've bought some really nice, stretchy dresses that can be worn with tights or leggings, but I think I'll really want to wear them once I've had the baby. I really want to shed the baby weight (not that I've put much on!) ASAP after the birth, but spending out on clothes I'm going to wear to 4-5 months seems a bit silly.

by the end of pregnancy the first thing i did was stick them in the attic... 4 months later had to get them back down.

after number two, i binned them the day i got home from hospitalGrin sick of the sight of them

Everyone I know wore their mat clothes for months and months. Because they were comfy.

Only exception were the trousers with huge over bump waistbands - because they need the bump to work.

Sounds totally normal to me. I wore my maternity dresses and jeans for a while afterwards just because they were so comfy and I hadn't reached my pre pregnancy size. I have since washed and packed away, waiting for my next pregancy Grin.

DD was born almost 6 years ago and i'm sitting wearing some maternity jeans right now. They're so comfy! Grin

Most of the women in my Nct group carried on wearing their maternity clothes for a while. Especially those who had a caescarian. Perfectly normal!

I never got very big, my maternity jeans never fitted. So my maternity clothes were only leggings and tunics and stretchy dresses.

Of course I wore them after.

DD1(15) still wears the stretchy crushed velvet dress I had when expecting her. (It's a bog standard size 12, no way can I get into it not PG now, but it suites her).

The only thing I binned were swimming costumes. Standard swimming costume Lycra doesn't survive even my small bumps.

My maternity costume, joined my maternity jeans at the NCT sale, hardly wore, as it too never fitted.
