Oi Daytime TV viewers, why are your feet so disgusting? Can you do something about it please?

So I don't have to watch these revolting adverts for foot cheese graters, corn treatments and foot scrubbing devices every ten minutes.

I am home with nausea and vomitting (pregnancy) and these adverts are not helping. Just why are daytime TV viewers the target audience for this stuff? Surely daytime TV viewers are the least likely to be mistreating their feet being the least likely to be pounding the streets in court shoes all day.

I'd switch the TV off but I really don't have the brain for much else at the moment.

Seriously can you just buy this stuff, sort your feet out so the marketing executives can move on to another target audience.

Thanks.

After you've done your feet, you'll need to consolidate your loans and sort out your insurance.

Chop chop.

Grin I know the ad you mean. The one with the fake (I hope fake) dried pVA glue skin coming off her feet? And then she empties it into the bin?!

I am holed up with 'morning' sickness too, so I feel your pain. Although, I do enjoy a good shout at Orange Andre at 2pm.

StealthPolarBear · 15/11/2013 14:33

I suspect elderly people are more likely to have bad feet. Are these products also diabetic friendly?
Is that woman (can't remember her name) always on talking about her will too?

StealthPolarBear · 15/11/2013 14:33

I do love grating my feet though. So satisfying. shall I come round and let you see me do it in the flesh?

nevergoogle · 15/11/2013 16:19

that's one of them loopy.

There's the ped egg one where she emptied about a pound of grated dry skin into the bin (boak), there's the other one where the girl shaves her feet then glances at it like she's just had an idea involving exploring the vibration effects of that device (i'm thinking fungal infection waiting to happen), then there's another where the 17 year old girl chooses shoes after her corn and bunion treatment (really? her?), and then to top it all off today I discover what looks like a small car wash in the shape of a plastic slipper that you attach to your shower then ram your rotten feet into and give them a right good scratch. I'm assuming the whole family can scratch their fungal infections on the same object or do you buy 4 or 5 and line them up along the bath?

And stealth, as lovely an offer as that sounds, NO I do not want you to do that. I don't really understand what needs grating off, but please please spare me the details.

Am home with morning sickness too. I don't watch the adverts and instead have been catching up on films I have recorded recently so no ped egg-ing for me. I quite like watching the x5 steam cleaner advert though.

The loans adverts annoy me, have you seen some of the interest rates?!! And that add with the crippled donkies.

nevergoogle · 15/11/2013 16:57

crippled donkeys eh? i suppose it adds variety.

but yes the extortionate interest rates at the bottom of the screen while they do something very distracting on the screen. just wow! no wonder people get in so much trouble. it's all smoke and mirrors.

When I was pregnant and sick with ds I got addicted to the shopping channels. God, I ordered some utter shit.

nevergoogle · 15/11/2013 17:00

i would claim temporary insanity and ask for a refund!

OP posts:
loopylouu · 15/11/2013 17:03

In my defence though, I had ds back in the dark ages before I had the internet at home, so shpoong channels were my only outlet. Thank god I didn't actually, I would have spent a fortune on amazon.

Heartbrokenmum73 · 15/11/2013 17:05

Yeah, cos the mistreated donkey ad is just as annoying as loan sharks isn't it? Hmm Those bloody annoying animals. How dare the charity come on the tv and annoy people by trying to raise funds. How inconsiderate of them. They obviously haven't realised that they may be annoying people.

This was mildly amusing until that. Oh, no, it wasn't.

ConfusedDotty · 15/11/2013 17:12

I have noticed this too. Never watched daytime tv before, but I was housebound recently.

It's all adverts for PPI, lightweight vacuum cleaners which make you wonder 'where the dirt goes', some No No for hairy cheeks and online foxy/cheeky/webcam bingo.

The best advert has to be, the claim compo for falling over advert with the cheery music, Something Tells Me I'm Into something Good.

Also, who has unwanted gold? I have plenty of unwanted carrier bags, but alas, no gold.

Bonkers, I was glad to get back to work.

nevergoogle · 15/11/2013 17:55

i'm not aware of the donkey ads. but there are some sad children ones. they make me cry, but then the cheesy foot scraper ad comes on and I'm back to vomitting.

it's a flipping rollercoaster.

OP posts:
nevergoogle · 15/11/2013 20:00

yes to unwanted carrier bags.

I raise you, unwanted junk mail.

but nope, no gold.

Your title is a world of contradictions - surely you DON'T want daytime TV viewers to do something about their manky feet, as there there would be no market for the products and they would stop showing you foot filings and corn remedies whilst you're trying to relax and think nurturing/non-vomming thoughts. It's the very fact that there are people out there, trying to better their feet that is causing the problem...Grin

nevergoogle · 15/11/2013 21:42

but if all the people with manky feet are at home during the day (as the targeted marketing suggests) then I think they really ought to take heed of the advice. Sort the feet people then there won't be the need. The adverts can stop and we can get back to the donkeys and sad children or whatever sad, non vom inducing adverts they might show instead.

Grin

Oh for heavens sake Heartbrokenmum lighten up. I am not anti donkey adverts! its just they are on in every single ad break and they have a lot of ad breaks during the day... I find it heartbreaking really and have to turn over - hence annoying. The loans advert I find annoying because I worry about people getting into more debt and they make it sound so easy to get money.

I agree about the rollercoaster comment its when the charity adverts are slapped between Barry Scott (cillit bang) and loan adverts, makes it a bit up and down.

liquidstate · 15/11/2013 21:47

on another note - has anyone got a pedi egg? are they as good as the adverts?

nevergoogle · 15/11/2013 21:56

i think you have to officially declare your love for donkeys liquid, I think it's the only way we can all move on from this.

hahahah, haven't read the whole lot of this but.........GROSS!

harticus · 15/11/2013 23:13

"Feet" and "grater" should never be in the same sentence.

Vikki88 · 15/11/2013 23:14

I've been eating when that feet grating advert has come on in the past. Pretty sure I turned green and it wasn't anything to do with envy.

Vom vom vom vom VOM.

fiftyandfab · 15/11/2013 23:14

read it now. I had unwanted gold. It was so unwanted I never gave it consideration. When I did, I was £750 richer....yippee de doo da!!!!

nevergoogle · 15/11/2013 23:23

I keep stubbing my toes on these gold bullions here, but can't bring myself to consider them unwanted.
