Listening to radio 1 with kids about

AIBU to expect to be able to have radio 1 on in the morning while we have breakfast without having the kids hearing things like "can't be arsed" or "crap" both of which I wouldn't want my children repeating. Am I just a total prude? I realise that being the wrong side 30 I'm too old for radio 1 but still...

You're the wrong side of 16 to be listening to radio 1.

It is tricky, mind you I was listening to radio 4 this evening and "crap" etc was used on a programme. It can be hard to avoid these things!

Yanbu. I love radio 1 but I don't like the swearing. We only have radio 1 on in the car so I usually turn it down inbetween songs.

I love radio 4 but it's a bit dreary first thing.

I have radio 4 for wake up and bedtime.

Bedtime is 4 all the way but the kids like abut of cheesy music to start the day, 2 has rubbish music and I can't bear adverts on the radio but maybe better than my dd arriving at school stating that she "can't be arsed"

Radio 6 is the answer.

I love radio 1 and I'm 52, I prefer the music to the other oldie stations but I agree some of the chatter is stupid. More music less chat please.

Radio 2 is fucking awful. Dreadful music and often dull DJ's - the ex Radio 1 bunch being notable exceptions.

It's no alternative for those of us being chased away from Radio 1.

I don't really mind the minor swear words. I Think of them more like lazy language really. DD is picking up a Brummie accent, I worry about that far more!

Yes, Radio 6 is the answer.

I had to complain about Radio 4. Was picking DH up from station with both DDs in the car it was 6.30pm and their play included words like prick and bugger. Brushed off my complaint though

Love radio 6 but sometimes find I'm not quite ready for it first thing. Really enjoy mark Radcliffe,and the other one who's name escapes me, in the afternoon. When did it become ok to say crap and arse and prick at any time of the day?

And I love a brumbies accent by the way. Very warm accent I always thought.
