To complain to the manager of this taxi firm after driver threatened to cancel my dad?

My dad is disabled and in a wheelchair after a stroke 12!yeas ago. Today he visited my mum at her care home and called for a cab when it was time to leave. There are only two cab firms that take wheel chairs in my town.

After 45 minutes and no cab my dad rang to query this. Another 15 minutes and the cab arrived. My dad is a quiet and placid old man and he mentioned to the cab driver that he had been waiting for a hour.

"Just shut it, or I will cancel your booking and leave you stranded" my dad pointed out that he had not ranted just calmly pointed out his long wait. The cab driver said that he would take him "just this once" but he should watch it.

This is no way to treat an old man. I am bloody furious.

Definitely complain.

Do you have the driver's details?

NewtRipley · 13/11/2013 17:23

How awful. Yes complain.

and report him to the Council's Licensing department. That sort of attitude may well lose him his licence

ohfourfoxache · 13/11/2013 17:26

Definitely report - totally unacceptable

QuintessentialShadows · 13/11/2013 17:29

I do have his license number. My dad specifically asked for a official receipt with all details on. Note this is in Norway so rungs could work differently. I had not thought about reporting him to authorities but maybe I should. With his special van he must transport many disabled, elderly and possibly vulnerable people

Definitely report, they'll have a log of the driver even if you don't have his details

ilovesooty · 13/11/2013 17:37

Appalling. He deserves disciplining for that. Your poor dad.

QuintessentialShadows · 13/11/2013 18:17

I will take it further tomorrow. Thanks.

Quint that is awful, your poor Dad, yes do please report

LuciusMalfoyisSmokingHot · 13/11/2013 18:32

Thats shocking, report it, no one has the right to treat someone like that, especially a vulnerable old man.
