My lovely FIL had offered to buy us a sofa for Christmas which is amazingly generous and makes me happy and a little awkward as it seems such a large amount of money. Have looked online and Argos have some nice ones so was thinking I could just ask for Argos vouchers and he can give me whatever amount he wants rather than me blatantly saying " buy me this for £450" which just feels grabby. Our current sofa is dead so don't really want to say no outright .
