DD and her friends are doing the YMCA sleep easy to raise funds to help the homeless and to raise awareness. It is going to be 3°c tonight at best Hmm

I am really proud of her for doing this and just helping them set up got me chilled to the bone, it really does make you realise how lucky you are to have a warm bed.

Well fine bogeys dd, great cause and amazing thing to do. Can we donate via the link?

Ledkr · 08/11/2013 22:18

We can and I will

Bogeyface · 08/11/2013 22:21

There is a link but I dont want to get into trouble with MN for posting it! We are not begging for donations (although of course, any would be very much appreciated!) I just wanted to say how proud I am of her, and how it has made us all think about what we take for granted.

If anyone does want a link, I am happy to send it via pm if you request it. :)

I won't donate but I do cook for about 60-80 homeless about every 6-8 weeks during the winter (part of a rota) and go and serve and help for an evening. I do have some idea of what goes on in the world.

Good luck to your dd!

If it makes you feel any better about the temperature tonight, I remember doing this when I was at school. It was february, but we all brought so many blankets, sleeping bags etc that we were all roasting, and it was a lot of fun!

Bogeyface · 09/11/2013 00:15

Good for you Married part of what they are doing is help the soup kitchen in our town. It amazes me that some people still think kids are a PITA when thousands and thousands put themselves out to make a difference!
