She is a very very kind hearted lady but I genuinely would like to put feelers out to get an idea about whether it's just me or if anyone else agrees that her habits would drive them mad too...

She picks her nose and eats it whilst talking, she wipes her nose with her hand and then licks it, she openly burps during meals without saying excuse me and she wears short nighties without shaving her legs (I don't think ever).

Do other MILs do this. .? I'd love to know. Thanks for listening! X

Yanbu. She is a grown woman presumably. That is the behaviour of a small child.

KillerKoalaFaceFromSpace · 08/11/2013 13:43

Oh god...I did not see that coming!

That is truly grim. YANBU.

SmiteYouWithThunderbolts · 08/11/2013 13:45

The leg shaving isn't really an issue, but the bogey stuff is just grim. My 4 year old doesn't do that, fgs.

CocacolaMum · 08/11/2013 13:46

at least she doesn't pick her nose and wipe it on YOUR cheek drop dead fred style like my brother does.

Prozacbear · 08/11/2013 13:46

Is this a joke???

If not, YANBU, very heavily so. Particularly the picking nose/eating it and wiping nose/licking it - I shudder to think.

Hawkmoth · 08/11/2013 13:50

Has she always done it or is it a recent development?

Aniseeda · 08/11/2013 14:01

Oh dear!

The lack of leg shaving wouldn't bother me but I wouldn't fancy seeing my mil walking around in a short nightie, shaved legs or not - has she not heard of dressing gowns?!

The boogers and burping is very unpleasant.

GrumpyRedhead · 08/11/2013 14:10

Lol!

SparklyFucker · 08/11/2013 14:22

The unshaven legs is none of your business. The rest is disgusting and YWNBU to want to call her on it every single time. "MIL could you not do that, it sends mixed messages to the dc when we tell them of for the same things - and it's very unhygenic" Something like that perhaps?

FuckyNell · 08/11/2013 14:24

Do you eat there?

Nanny0gg · 08/11/2013 14:25

Do other MILs do this. .?

Yep, they're part of the MiL Test you have to take to officially become one...
