I'm currently a joint Director of a company, some years ago it was agreed by myself and business partner the company would be set up at Location A..as I was hoping to sell my house and move to that location over 90 miles away. However things changed and I became pregnant, I'm due to return in Feb of next year of maternity, I have asked my Business Partner if we could move the business mid point to suit both parties and I would in turn take the burden of expenses if this was required. She states 100% No and its my problem. Either return or resign. I want to know if there is anyone qualified to advise me on this?

I don't know the law but it seems to me that you had both decided to set up at location A. Your pregnancy is not her problem.

Are you two the only Directors, or is there a larger Board. She can't force you to resign or dismiss you without a Board resolution being passed. This would be unlikely if the two make up the Board and have equal voting rights. You could choose to work from wherever you like, but neither of you can insist unilaterally. If you are going to carry on working together, you need to find a compromise - perhaps working from home 3 days a week?

As you had agreed already then yabu to change it to suit you. However she can't give you those ultimatums if you are both equal within the company.
