To not understand why shouting is "fun"?

Ok I am possibly suffering from PMT given that this is my third AIBU in ONE day! But anyway....why do people yell, scream and shout as part of the "fun" of an occassion?

The neighbours are having a bit of a fireworks thing and part of their way of celebrating seems to shout WOOOOH!!!!! AAAAAAGH!!! WEEEE!!!! at the top of their voices. they're also counting EVERY firework down before it goes off.

They have about 4 kids there..smallish ones...and the noise is awful! We had some fireworks too but we simply watched them and did the odd "Oooh!" and "aaah!"

Why are some people so LOUD!???

do you sit on rides at the theme park in silence as well go in shut the doors and windows and chill the fuck out .

I didn't post this on the annoying things in films thread, but it really gets my goat when someone goes down a slide, up in the air etc, and feel the need to bellow, " wooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaah!"

I'd never GO on a ride in a theme park! I'm 41! Why would I do that? I just want to know...do people enjoy screeching? Or is it something people can't help when they get happy? I can help it! I never scream!

yanbu. I don't really scream or squeal over anything. I was silent in labour and will be silent watching the fireworks. Although I'm an introverted no fun zone so possibly not the best person to ask .
