AIBU to think constant lateness is just rude and disrespectful?

Because apparently I am!

I have a few people in my life who are constantly late. One being my DP.

Today I'm probably being slightly hormonal raging as he went off to football this morning at 8am promising he would be back at 12 as we have to do a food shop and get some bits in town before going to a party at 4 (in a different town so we have to leave at 3.30) he's buggered off with the buggy in the car so I can't go out and do it myself (I don't drive so would have to get the bus) there's no way we can do the shop at any other time as he works every hour under the sun and I have horrendous joint problems so need help with it anyway.

He's always late no matter what and is under the impression I'm unreasonable as I get annoyed about it, but I see it as he just doesn't respect my time as important at all and other than that it's just really fucking rude. He never let's me know he's running late, I have to chase after him! AIBU?

YANBU.

Tardiness is unacceptable and downright rude.

(Except for true emergencies/unforeseen problems obviously)

It gives me The Rage when people are late.

ask him to do the shopping on his way home? Why do you need to be there?

(But remind him you need to leave for the oarty at 3.30)

A while ago I suggested I might run a seminar on how the space time continuum works for people who are perpetually late. Perhaps you would like to sign your DH up to it?

Yanbu. Lateness is one thing that really bugs me, to help though could you do your shopping online? Weekly shops used to be the one thing that me and OH hated doing so now do it all online much less hassle

But he must recognise that if he gets home too late to allow shopping to fit in before he party, it's a problem. What's his solution? He does it another time? You both do it another time? You miss the party?

Some people, annoyingly, just seem to be like this though. My Dad was. I vividly remember sitting outside my dance school for 3 hours aged about 13/14. I had no mobile phone and no money. He rocked up at 4pm. I slammed into the car, burst into tears (I'd assumed car accident or something by this point!) and shouted 'I told you to pick me up after lunch' - to be fair on him it had been an open ended rehearsal with that vague finish time but still. He looked at me amazed and said, 'but it is after lunch!'
