Isn't November a bit too early for Christmas films? Or am I just Scrooge?

MammaTJ · 02/11/2013 21:45

Not too early for me! I love it!!

Floralnomad · 02/11/2013 21:46

Definitely not too early for me .

MercuryRising · 02/11/2013 21:49

I must be a bit bah humbug. I love the build up to Christmas but really don't feel the need for Christmas films yet. Except Elf which I could watch all year round Grin

OP posts:
Sirzy · 02/11/2013 21:59

Don't watch it then!

MercuryRising · 02/11/2013 22:05

I won't Sirzy I'm going to abstain until December. There don't seem to be any real classics on yet.

Not too early, i love the build up. If you love Christmas why not enjoy it as long as possible? If you don't, don't watch it.

MercuryRising · 02/11/2013 22:11

Ok I accept in this instance I am a bit scrooge Grin

Yanbu, but I just don't get Christmas anyway!

Purplefrogshoe · 02/11/2013 23:26

Yabu I wish they would start in October Grin

gemmal88 · 03/11/2013 00:33

I've been craving the smell of the mulled wine plug in - my house smells like Christmas and I'm using the majority of my willpower to wait and put my Christmas tree up! Grin

raisah · 03/11/2013 06:24

The lady down my road put her tree up on the 1st of November so Gemma188 why wait? I would be sick of it by the 25th of December if it went up that early.

littlewhitebag · 03/11/2013 07:30

It's November. I think that's fine. I started a Christmas jigsaw yesterday. It's so difficult I think I will still be doing it on Christmas Day!

agedknees · 03/11/2013 07:38

Dh always puts the decks up1st dec. However this year we will be moving house around about 13th Dec (and it's a Friday), so no early decs this year he he he.

Scrooge and me - best friends.

BrandyAlexander · 03/11/2013 07:44

Ooh great! Will have a sneaky watch while insisting nothing Christmasy happens in our house before 1 December!Wink

FredFredGeorge · 03/11/2013 08:20

I'd not watch it, but YABU, it costs them almost nothing (they'll buy the rights to show the shows many times anyway) so they might as well do it for all the bonkers folk.

ZombieMojaveWonderer · 03/11/2013 08:36

Jeez you don't have to watch it you know.

cranberryorange · 03/11/2013 08:40

I watched my first Xmas movie yesterday and have got up to watch Mistletoe over Manhatten todayBlush

BreakOutTheKaraoke · 03/11/2013 08:48

Jingle all the way was on sky one last night, first christmas movie of the year for us. And the Toys R Us advert satrted on Friday, I think that it's officially the run up to Christmas now!

WaitMonkey · 03/11/2013 09:00

whitebag, what Christmas jigsaw have you got please ? I fancy one.

fiftyandfab · 03/11/2013 11:07

NU at all. And it's not a question of not watching it, you just can't avoid it! I'm thoroughly sick of Christmas by the time it arrives. And the incessant adverts....why is it important to have a new sofa/bed/conservatory 'in time for Christmas'?

Pixel · 03/11/2013 19:04

The last couple of years we have subscribed to the movie channel just so I could watch the Christmas films and then cancelled it afterwards. It was just the same few films over and over though (no change from one year to the next) so I'm not sure it's worth bothering again. I wouldn't start watching this early though!
I recorded National Lampoon's Christmas vacation the other night but I won't be watching it until December, I haven't even had my birthday yet so officially Christmas cannot be mentioned Wink.

CreamyCooler · 03/11/2013 20:14

It's not to early for me, I'm going to have a sneaky watch tomorrow when the DC are back at school. I love all the cheesy movies.

BurlyShassey · 03/11/2013 20:15

itll be the music stations next week starting too.

LURVE the xmas songs but by 1st Dec Im sick of Slade/wizard/shaky/wham etc etc.

I try not to listen to them till 1st Dec. don't mind the movies though.

SKY 183 True Drama channel started xmas films already too!

mind you, some chnnels show JAckFrost/home alone in the summer and Summer Holiday in the winter!
