Are some women really this close???

I'm watching an episode of SATC and I just nearly spat my tea out in shock when Samantha) went into the bathroom with Carrie to help her remove her diaphragm which was stuck Shock

Now I know some female friends can be really close, and I know that SATC isn't real life....but seriously.....are there women out there who are genuinely this close to their friends???

Roxanne, I hope there was no FIST involved!

APartridgeAmongThePigeons · 03/11/2013 14:46

MrsJay, I know a few women in that situation.

They never mention that at the bridal fittings Hmm

APartridgeAmongThePigeons · 03/11/2013 14:50

mrsmindcontrol btw, I wasn't having a go at your friends who I am sure were probably quite drunk too that thought it was a good idea and that their heart was in the right place. I am jut saying it was a bad idea. And not something you should do given other options.

manicinsomniac · 03/11/2013 14:50

I was embarrassed enough holding a friend's wedding dress while they went for a wee!

I would do it for my sister if she asked and maybe for a friend. But no way in hell would I ask anybody, including my sister, to do it for me. I'd die inside. Doctors or A and E only for me.

garlicbutter · 03/11/2013 15:02

Yes, I've helped a friend retrieve a lost tampon. It wasn't either of our finest moments, but you do what you must ... Have assisted in plenty of poo 'n' puke disasters, and been assisted. It kind of comes with house-sharing in your twenties!

Tbh, I don't understand the squeamishness. We let men we hardly know rummage around in our fanjos for fun, it doesn't seem much of a stretch to let a close friend do it out of necessity Confused

HepsibarCrinkletoes · 03/11/2013 15:14

I would totally help out a friend of needed in this sort of situation and I'm pretty damn sure my friends would do the same. Which is, Erm, why they're my friends. Not just fair weather ones.

APartridgeAmongThePigeons · 03/11/2013 15:14

That's one way of looking at it garlic... but being in the mood does change things you need to admit.

I equally would prefer not to help any male friends with their penis and or arse issues.

Actually... while I would help out a female friend in need (with much whining as I said above) I can declare I would not touch a male friends penis/arse to help him out. Unless this is a desert island scenario and my spooning out his bum would save his life (to use Lauries horrific story)

Otherwise off to A&E you fuck.

not in the bridesmaid duties manual either Grin

garlicbutter · 03/11/2013 15:24

being in the mood does change things Grin True enough!

RhondaJean · 03/11/2013 15:25

Oh no I'd personally rather die than do or have this done to me. Any of it.

I remember a thread on here a while back about mothers helping their daughters insert tampons and I almost fainted. I am obviously a prude! I didn't realise it before though.

mrsjay · 03/11/2013 15:27

oh no id rather stick pins in my eyes than show my dds how to use tampons Shock and tbh the dds would die on the spot

TigOldBitties · 03/11/2013 15:33

I put my nieces tampon in for her, because she needed help.

My mum put my first tampon in for me, with my sisters watching!

I'd do the same for my DD. Doubt she will care when the time comes.

It's only a tampon.

Blondeorbrunette · 03/11/2013 15:37

There's nothing I wouldn't do for my friends. My sister once had to apply cream to my lady garden, but then she's my sister :)

Blondeorbrunette · 03/11/2013 15:38

I might add that she offered and neither of us made a big deal out of it.

AChristmassyJerseySpud · 03/11/2013 15:44

I dont think it would bother me with my best friend. I helped her birth her third DC and cut the cord.

AnyCoffeeFucker · 03/11/2013 15:51

No. I would be revolted. Unless it was the desert island scenario above then no no and thrice no.

LaurieFairyCake · 03/11/2013 16:14

Yes, really Blackholes

How far up your arse can you go ? Wink

Answer: you can't. You need to be lying with your knees bent so someone can scoop for you.

Impacted bowel due to some food poisoning.

Dh and his mate have never mentioned it again Grin

An example of 'what happens on tour, stays on tour'

Sallystyle · 03/11/2013 16:14

I would do it. Never have but would not have a problem with helping out anyone with a vaginal issue etc.

It's just a body.

mrsjay · 03/11/2013 16:21

ooh laurie i feel a bit ill Grin

BlackholesAndRevelations · 03/11/2013 16:56

Oh good grief..... Envy

Mumraathenoisylion · 03/11/2013 17:01

Why though??? Why would you want your sister to put cream on your lady garden? WHY god dammit? Could you not do it yourself?

garlicbutter · 03/11/2013 17:19

I've let beauticians wax mine - what's the difference?

I also bumped into a gynaecologist and his students, half an hour after they'd all been gathered round an inspection of my cervix. That was embarrassing!

ferretyfeet · 03/11/2013 17:24

I'm afraid I would run for the hills

FortyDoorsToNowhere · 03/11/2013 17:40

I couldn't do it, be too worried of causing damage.

Removing a strangers tampon is a no for me as well, I would be too scared of being reported to the police.

bellybuttonfairy · 03/11/2013 17:50

My lovely friend deliveried my first 2 dc (she is a midwife). Ive also done stretch and sweeps on quite a few friends as Im also a midwife (nothing like being very post dates to drop your inhibitions). Dc3 was a really intensive aggressive labour and the poor work collegue/friend who delivered me. I poo'd everywhere (sigh and bows head in shame)

I really am not bothered by bodily functions at all.
